The location is nice but not particularly clean.
The staff is unmotivated and unfriendly. They built up a tense atmosphere the whole time as the guests bothered them.

Location is a bit far from central activities, beds are bit on the firm side, no shampoo

The cleaning was perfect. I did not like the view of my first room and managed to change it to another room. The garden and the swimming pool were excellent. Breakfast was also very good.
The bed was very stiff and I did not sleep very comfortably.

The hotel is very chic and has a relaxing vibe. I had a great time here and the stuff was very friendly. I recommend this place.
The location is in a small village where there are two more restaurants / bars and you can also eat at the hostel restaurant.
The breakfast is basic, but there are good fresh fruits which I really liked, it would be great if they could add some more vegan options
You can reach the village with bus or by taxi, in case you do not have a car.
The pool is nice and you can enjoy it after a hike in the area.

Staff is frendly and helpful, the room was clean nad spacious
The breakfast were VERY avridge with few options for vegetarians and the instant coffee wasn't drinkable.
The pool closes at 8pm.

the hotel was nicely located in quiet neighbourhood, some distance from the main road. It had a parking. Around house it was very green and cozy. The breakfast was good. The restaurant serves good fish for dinner. The room was clean with view to mountains and garden. The staff was very kinda

The hotel is beautiful with lovely gardens, and an amazing pool. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The food was ok. The staff were very friendly. The location was charming.
I would like to have an extra pillow.

This hotel is located in a very nice small town with stunning views of the mountains and sea. Very quiet and relaxing. The restaurant has a decent selection in the menu.
The bed was terrible. Just a spring madras without a top lay madras so we could feel the springs through the sheet. Also on the tiny side (guess 140 cm) for 2 persons. Internet was slow and no connections in the room. Bathroom size was great, but when showering, the floor was flooded with water. Terrible design of the showing area as the water seems to run the wrong way. The jacuzzi and pool was on the cold side.

Our room was really lovely but at the top of the stairs of the main house. We heard everything around the reception area.

Well kept, beautifully kept grounds, interior decoration, all very clean, and in a good location to explore north of the island. The hotel is very good for the price - nice rooms, we loved the strong shower. Breakfast was good, we had dinner once in the hotel and the food was good (although pricey vs a local restaurant). Service staff where all friendly and helpful. Jacuzzi and pool area is beautiful. Loved the hammocks in the garden to relax! Very peaceful location.
The internet was very slow. The door to the room doesn't seal well so you hear noise from outside. The pool is on the colder side - that's understandable. But the jacuzzi was chilly, after 10 minutes or so we had to go for a hot shower. We and other couples wished it was warmer! The bed was small for a couple, 1.40 I guess, although we slept well.

Nice Hotel, clean. Beds are really comfortable. nice pool with nice view. the area is beautiful.
The room doors are normal doors, so it's loud from the corridor. breakfast was ok, not that much choice. staff didn't speak English, so it was really hard to have a check out conversation.

Lovely small size hotel, room was spacious, with "traditional furniture" (think dark wood / heavy cabinets).
Staff was friendly even if not very comfortable in English.
Nice pool / jacuzzi area although it felt crowded quite quickly
The sound insulation wasn´t great - but luckily the family next to us was fairly quiet.
The restaurant seems to focus more on quantity than quality

The entire facility was absolutely stunning! Kind people everywhere and fantastic food, clean rooms and beautiful views.

The breakfast was okay, but there seemed to be some confusion in that I asked for Lactose free milk, which I received but they also thought that I was gluten free also and prepared gluten free food which was not necessary.
The restaurant evening meal was also good and very welcome after a long day travelling.
The Wifi was not a very good connection. I often had to stand out in the corridor to get any signal.
Also, I found the carpark a little small, although I now understand that there was further parking on the other side of the building. However, it was easy to park close by in the street.
They also seemed to be a little short of staff.

I chose it for the location. Surrounded by forest and convenient for exploring the north coast of Madeira. The hotel was very clean, pretty and pleasant
My wife didn’t sleep well as the mattress was rather soft. One flat pillow each was insufficient.
We enjoyed the food, but the breakfast croissants were not up to the same standard.

We really liked our experience overall. There was a waitress that was new at the hotel who was really friendly and helpful.
The ONLY thing that could have been better was the water temperature in the jacuzzi.

The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. The pool, jacuzzi and outside gardens were absolutely amazing and really made the stay here. The food at the restaurant was excellent. The hotel is in a good location with a few nice walks nearby!
The only downside to my stay at the Solar de Boaventura was the sound proofing of the room could do with a little improving as during dinner service I could here it from my room which was directly above and I could hear people talking in the corridor. Apart from this everything was good!

We liked the pool and the jacuzzi, the hotel was nice and clean with kind and willing staff
The bad wasn't comfortable and the breakfast was the same all 6 days with not much choice
