The rooms were a decent size . It was easy get through the new system of self service.
We stayed 3 nights. 4 tea bags were put in the room and 8 milk but they were never topped up and we had to go over to the shop and buy our own.

Rooms were big, comfortable and clean. Couldn't be more central. Excellent shower. All automated. Vending machines and self check-in kiosk. No staff other than Michael at reception who was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Perhaps a cleaner or two but seldom seen. All in all, very good accommodation but absolutely zero atmosphere. Perhaps that's the way the hospitality sector is going, but must admit I'm not fan.

The location was good, an easy walk to the town centre. Parking was available at no extra cost. Loved the area in and around Athlone. Had advice from a friend to go to Athlone and it proved to be good advice. Once we found the hotel, we were set.
The fact that there was no reception inside was a little unsettling. Fortunately, a staff member was walking by while we were at the computerised check in. The room was adequate and we enjoyed the area but there was no one to ask if we had any problems or requests for advice etc. aside from the one staff member who just happened to be walking by.
