The location was excellent and it was excellent value for the money! And the water straight from the faucet was excellent quality!

A very charming hotel in a perfect location, just a short walk from the city centre. The breakfast was excellent, offering a great variety of high‑quality options. The staff were genuinely kind and attentive throughout our stay. The underground room was a bit small for four people and the bathroom slightly inconvenient, but overall the hotel delivers strong value for money and is exceptionally clean. Convenient parking is available right in front of the hotel at a very reasonable price.
all good overall

Hotel Mäuerle is in a good location with a car park across the road but apparently it is an expensive car park. Lindau island is very small so any hotel on the island is in a good location. The breakfast was good. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable.
Hotel Mäuerle is like a high class hostel at hotel prices. Reception is just a small desk, which is manned by an unprofessional and unfriendly girl, up until only midday each day. After that, there are no staff to be found until next morning. It is not a welcoming reception. No local information available. One day we needed to ask a question so we rang the contact number for the hotel but could not get an answer all day. Be warned if you get room 10 or 11. They are inside the front door and every time somebody closes the door it slams shut with a disturbing bang which woke us up many times. The laundry is stored under a curtain and in large cages directly outside the bedroom door of rooms 10 and 11. Pictures included here. On 2 mornings, we were woken at 6.30am and 7.30am when the guy came to collect the cages of laundry and made an unacceptable clattering and banging noise. I complained but received no apology of any sort. In fact, the girl just shrugged and walked away. The laundry should not be outside guest bedrooms. It should be in a side room or at a back door where guests are not disturbed.
The room was missing a piece of floorboard which, didn't matter to us, but this shouldn't be the case when you pay a lot of money for accommodation.
