My husband and I had a good stay at this hotel. We were welcomed on arrival, and the staff spoke English, which was very helpful for us.
The room was nice, clean, and tidy. It was also quiet, with no noise disturbances, and the bed was comfortable. Tea, coffee, sugar, and a kettle were provided in the room.
The hotel has lift access, which was convenient.
The location is very good, with the train station and bus stops within walking distance. There are also restaurants and grocery shops nearby. Hallstatt was very easy to reach by train within a few minutes, which was perfect for our trip.
Breakfast was okay. There were not many options, but overall we had no complaints. It would be nice if they could add more breakfast items such as hash browns, fried mushrooms, pancakes, waffles, sausages, or more English breakfast options.
Overall, we had a pleasant and comfortable stay, and we were happy with our experience.
There were no milk pods at first, but when we asked, the staff kindly gave them to us.
The bed was a double bed, but it had two single mattresses on it. This was not a problem for us, but it is something to keep in mind.
The staff were polite and helpful, although not overly friendly. We were not introduced to the hotel facilities when we arrived, but when we asked at reception, they answered our questions and showed us what we needed.
We asked about laundry facility but we were told that there is no facility.

Spacious rooms with nice views. Helpful staff. Extensive breakfast in gorgeous restaurant area. Great bar too.
We did not have any time to try the spa facilities!

The vintage hotel was very well preserved with a blend of history and elegance. The interior of the hotel was beautiful. The experience of staying in this hotel was awesome and far exceeded my expectation.
The room was spacious and cozy. The breakfast was good and delicious with high variety. I like the swimming pool with warm water and also the sauna. It is located at the center of Bad Ischl town, about 10 minutes walk from the train/bus station. Good value for money! I enjoyed my stay in the hotel!
The restaurant was great too. I ordered a grilled trout for dinner and it was fantastic.

Historical hotel with beautiful environment near river side.
Delicious breakfast with a great variety of hams & cheese
The young lady at the reception desk demonstrated a poor understanding of customer service. For instance, when I asked for information about local bus routes, she replied dismissively, “I don’t know. I don’t own the bus company!”
On another occasion, when I mentioned having difficulty accessing the balcony, she responded in a condescending tone: “You just open the door and go out!” In reality, the balcony door could only be opened like a regular door in one direction; I opened it the opposite way, like an incline window—a design I had never encountered anywhere else in the world.
Furthermore, when I requested hot water from the hotel restaurant, the waiter responded abruptly, saying, “You need to pay for hot water!”
Such poor customer service sadly undermined the overall experience at what is otherwise a fantastic, beautiful, historical and expensive hotel in an excellent location.
