Hotel Flex is a bit of a throwback to older style business hotels. Reasonable price, simple design, good location alongside the Kyobashi and Enko River, even a complimentary drink service for hotel guests in the mornings. We were very fortunate to have a riverside view room. The room was a bit on the narrow side but there was enough space at the foot of the bed to store a medium sized suitcase or two if needed. Access: ignore Google Maps (etc.) and instead head out through the Hiroshima Station concourse, cross the bridge over the highway and go through the エールエールＡ館 department store then exit down to the riverside.
The closet in our room had a open shelf above for extra storage. Fortunately we checked first before putting bags etc. up there and it hadn't been cleaned for quite a while. Easy enough for us to take care of ourselves but perhaps check first if you're going to do the same.

5-10 minute walk from Hiroshima station, used old style keys which was a nice touch. Decent hotel stay for 1 night.
You have to go through a specific entrance/exit from Hiroshima station to get to the hotel, but this is just a navigation quirk.

It was my second time staying at Hotel Flex since my last time in 2007 when I stayed in its mezzanine. This time it was on the 10th floor with a great view overlooking the river and a short walk from Hiroshima station. Like a penthouse, it included a sky terrace with a garden and table and chairs to relax and enjoy the view. The bathroom, with a private window on one wall, looks into the terrace. Another window offers a view of the river.
Comfortable twin beds. It comes with Japanese sleepwear and relaxing eye masks.
Breakfast, at 1,000 yen offers choices. One is French toasts, another is a platter with an egg, salad and toasts. Various drinks to choose from. The dining area looks out at the riverside that enhances your time.
I would recommend more ports for modern-day devices (USB-C). The shower has many functions. What was missing was a shower curtain to prevent the water from the shower from splashing on the floor creating a puddle. It could pose potential slipping issues.
The staff members were excellent, friendly and helpful with recommendations on where to eat.
