We had the most amazing time at Sax Barisano: The flat is perfectly located in the midst of Sasso Barisano and very authentic in every regard. Comfortable and rustic feel, all amenities needed for a holiday home including small but usable kitchen. The lovely hosting couple Rosa and Aldo together with Gabriele went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home, including Aldo's transfer service from outside the Sasso zone (which cannot be accessed by car) and their hearty breakfast with local produce served each morning in a dedicated space around the corner. Communication via Whatsapp was easy and super helpful to prepare for our arrival.
If you are looking for an authentic experience in Matera, look no further and spend a few nights at Sax Barisano, can only recommend.
Everything perfect.

location was amazing. Apartment was great and included many amenities such as full size refrigerator , several types of espresso makers , microwave, clothes washer, kitchen utensils, free bottled water, amazing terrace/balcony , free shuttle to and from free parking from Aldo the owner. Fabulous breakfast next door from owners Rosa and Aldo and nephew Gabriel. The apartment is decorated with amazing historical items. We cannot wait to return ! miss it already

We loved everything about our two days with Aldo and Rosa. Our apartment was large and comfortable and perfectly situated. Breakfast was incredible! They were so friendly and welcoming. Thanks too to Aldo for helping us to park and ferrying us to and from our car.
It was perfect!
