Staff were super friendly, convenient location. 20-25 mins walk to Hakata Station. Comfy, clean and we felt at home being the first hotel we visited on our trip. Sad to not have stayed longer. Smelled great too! The hotel has a signature scent, very relaxing. There's a spray bottle in your room with it.
Public bath wasn't tattoo friendly, not really a negative for us as we hadn't planned on using it anyway, but something to be aware of.

The hotel has a nice spacious lounge overlooking the area. The porter spoke English and was a really kind man. On Sunday they had a free herbari workshop.
I think the hotel advertises itself in a misleading way, which is an unacceptable business practice. On arrival l was informed that they apply a policy of ‘no cleaning’ if you stay for less than four days — which effectively means ‘no room service’ and indeed no cleaner came into our room to pick up the garbage or replenish toilet paper or make up the room for the duration of our three nights stay. If we wanted cleaning, we would need to pay an extra 1500 yen per service (they gave me some hand cream as ‘compensation’ — as if l needed it). When l booked l had carefully all hotel policies and there was no mention of to ‘no cleaning’ policy. I booked under false pretense, s l would not have booked had l known of this. Our stay was spoiled and unpleasant as a result. We had come to Fukuoka to enjoy Japanese culture, not to spend time sorting out our garbage. Paying an average of 33,000 yen per night before city tax (about £160 a night) and no breakfast ought to have included the room service.
