We stayed in a super kitsch character room (Toei produces anime so there's lots of merchandise in the hotel gift shop) in this ski resort hotel - it was out-of-season, but the ambience was still terrific, and despite the loud furnishings, we slept soundly listening to the gurgling river outside. The Hotel offers free drinks in their Lounge area, ping pong for hire downstairs, an onsen and much more. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet's fresh-made onigiri.
Watch out for bears! Depending on the season, bears are prevalent - and aggressive. There'll be warnings on the front doors, and emergency spray at Reception.

The hotel is conveniently located right next to the Yuzawa Kogen ski lift and gondola station, making it an ideal base for skiing activities. A vending machine in the lobby offers discounted lift and gondola tickets, adding extra convenience. Communication is smooth as the staff speak fluent English. The complimentary shuttle service to and from Yuzawa Station is a great bonus. The outdoor onsen is excellent and provides a wonderfully relaxing experience after a day on the slopes.
Both breakfast and dinner are served buffet-style, but the overall quality of the food is underwhelming.
