Very authentic Ryokan vibe in every part of the hotel. Bathing facilities and surroundings and were spacious and excellent. There was the option of 3 private hot spring rooms and ladies or gents public. We had no trouble getting into private baths whenever we wanted. They even gave free icecream, ramen or other treats depending on the time of day. You checked your shoes in at reception, and walked around the hotel in socks (provided) or bare feet. It felt strange to start but after a while we found it quite liberating. Most of the guests walked around in the lovely hotel pyjamas which unfortunately my husband couldn’t do because he is 6’5. Breakfast was included and was authentic traditional japanese set meal and very generous.

Absolutely great hospitality from the staff. The private onsens were wonderful and flexible to visit. Location near the Shinkansen station is great for access from Tokyo. I had breakfast and dinner included and 5/6 meals were delicious. I stayed 3 nights and was the only non-Japanese person in the hotel, which was great. Tatami floors throughout the hotel was comfortable, although in the beginning I was a little puzzled walking around wearing socks or bare feet.
The Japanese style room was filled with beds.

Clean, nicely modern with the classic flavor. Very nice onsen. Meals are more than decent for this type of hotels.
From my past experiences of other onsen hotels, the meals felt a lot better, but still, for the price, I had better meals at high-end restaurants for the similar price range. That’s the only minor negative, but I wasn’t disappointed, either!

Good location
One of the guests smoked during my stay and the entire floor smelled of cigarette. The staff couldn’t knock on the guest door to stop him from smoking. Unsure how they’re handled it in the end.
