almost historical feeling atmosphere in the middle of magical nature with a crystal clear lake

A very cosy place in the middle of beautiful nature. It felt like we went through a portal to slower and more historical age. Very cool place with calm atmosphere! Many hiking trails around, crystal clear lake literally in the yard. Perfect breakfast, eggs (boiled and pan cooked) cereal, many options for cheese, breads, veggies, fruits, juices, teas - and many more tiny details. The sharable bathroom and toilet is not a problem, for every corridor there’s 2 of each. You also have a sink in your room, so it’s convenient.

Wifi in Room 10 is almost non existent, you need to place the router closer to the end of that corridor

Peaceful stay at ideal location

This was a perfect location. Out in the forest but short access to the city. Beautiful location! Very friendly staff. Comfortable accommodations.

Parking was limited due to hotel having a really good restaurant as well. Floors were extremely creaky/noisy as well but nothing can be done about this due to being an older house.

Great stay!

Fantastic location, close to Fussen and the castle's, situated on a small beautiful lake in the forest. Extremely picturesque. Swiss cows in the distance with the quiet chimes of their bells as they grazed. Loved it!

Not worth writing about.

This place is it if you’re looking for peace! Cozy rooms, kind staff, peaceful views, and the restaurant serves some of the best food we had in 4 countries over 30 days. Superb!!

Unspoilt old building in fantastic location

This place has a lot of character and is located in a very scenic location beside a lake. It was built in 1935 and has not been spoilt by later improvements

Superb

The smokers on the deck by the restaurant was blowing right into our area. We asked to sit away from the smokers and the owners said we could not sit inside because it was inconvenient for the staff.

A quiet place to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting.

If you are Americans expecting luxurious accommodations, then stay awayl But if you are adventuresome, and don’t mind the rather austere bedrooms, then the quiet and beauty will win you over. And the dinner was mighty tasty! Breakfast was as expected, lots of good food!

Beautiful location, not many amenities other than breakfast.

Breakfast was good/ample. Selection of eggs, waffles, meat, cheeses, breads, vegetables, fruit, yogurt, cereal, tea, coffee, juice. The lake was beautiful. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Mattress comfortable. Rooms clean. Great views. Feel connected to nature.

The floors and bed frame squeaked/creaked, doors opening and closing are very loud, pillows very flat, no area other than outdoor area for relaxing outside of the room (there is just one small wooden chair provided in the room) and no common area for guests… Some small improvements on guest amenities could improve guest experience.

If anyone is looking for a good hotel, I do not recommend it

Staff were kind and View was perfect.

Although the staff were kind, the room facilities were zero, the room didn't even have a fridge or kettle. The towels were not clean. The room did not smell fresh, the floor und my room made noise while walking and if one person was walking on the way, wir can’t slept and can’t rested in the room. There was no view from the room as the window was very small

Secluded hideaway right by the lake

The location right by the Alat lake was amazing. Really secluded and very quiet at night. Breakfast was good, they even had fresh waffles. Friendly staff and easy self check in, as we arrived late on a monday when the reception closes early.

The only thing really is the creaky floors. You can always hear when someone is walking around above you or on the corridor. But as its an old house its totally normal and once you're asleep you dont really hear it anymore.

Excellent hotel if you like to be a bit remote and like swimming, hiking, biking and wonderful scene

An idillic location with a lovely lake for swimming within a few feet. Great location for hiking and biking and close proximity for Neuschwanstein Schloss.

The lake became very busy during the day and early evening but it was exceptionally hot weather and it turned out it was a German holiday week.

very pittoresk place, quite remote but very close to a lake ,where you are allowed to swim in, good big german breakfast, nice restaurant ,the hotel itself is somewhat old fashion , few accommodations, very laid back and quiet at night

Phenomenal Stay

The staff is incredible. Everyone is super friendly and kind. Their breakfast was phenomenal. I absolutely adored the view we had from our room as well.

Exceptional value and location.

the location may be as nice as anywhere I have stayed, nestled next to an alpine lake in the foothills of the Bavarian alps. staff was very friendly and the breakfast spread we had was great. everything was exceptionally clean.

Old building but very nice team and breakfast

You can make your own fresh warm wafels at breakfast, very nice and very easy. Small but very complete breakfast

If only location matters

If you love being in natural beauty, hike or bike than this is a good place to be.

We had two small two bed rooms. The size and quality was that of a very basic hostel or mountain hut. Bathroom and toilet were far away and small. The restaurant was on a Guesthouse level and not catering for vegetarians. As if to compensate for all that the prices were premium.

Beautiful mountain lake location

Beautiful location at the end of a small valley, facing a turquoise mountain lake. Beer garden terrace, bathing spot, decent breakfast. Great starting point for walks and hikes, too.

Since this is an old (as in traditional) house, rooms are small, but cozy and spotless clean.
