I am a Marriott Platinum Elite member, and we chose this property to celebrate our anniversary. Unfortunately, the overall experience was underwhelming and did not meet the standards I have come to expect from Marriott. A) Confusion regarding Suite Night Award usage There was considerable confusion from the hotel’s side regarding the use of my Suite Night Award before arrival. This resulted in unnecessary stress leading up to the stay. Although the hotel eventually honored its commitment after repeated follow-ups and insistence from my side, the entire experience was unpleasant and could have been handled much more professionally. B) In-room dining service and privacy concerns During our in-room dining experience, one of the servers removed the foil covering our food despite us specifically requesting that it be left on to keep the food warm. More concerning, about an hour later, the same staff member entered our room without first informing us, even though we were inside. He stated that the plates needed to be collected as per hotel policy. This was a serious breach of privacy and left us feeling extremely uncomfortable. We immediately raised this concern with the hotel management. C) Lack of personalized hospitality The service throughout the stay felt very transactional. We were assigned a butler, but after the initial introduction, there was no proactive engagement or effort to enhance our experience, despite the hotel being aware that we were celebrating our anniversary. Apart from a small cake sent to the room, there was little acknowledgment of the occasion. While I understand that such gestures are not an obligation, as a Marriott Platinum Elite member I have consistently experienced Marriott properties going the extra mile to make special occasions memorable. That level of hospitality was noticeably absent here. D) Breakfast-to-go experience As we had to check out early at 5:30 AM, we requested a packed breakfast.
