About this house rental
Nestled in Ramona, this charming house for $203 per night is a great option for your next trip. Ramona 'Valley of the Sun' is located in the foothills of San Diego. Blue Sky, fog free days, make this an all year round vacation spot. The cottage is 15 minutes from San Diego Safari Park ( Wild Animal Park). In the early 1900's the neighborhood was a weekend vacation spot for San Diego 'city folk'. The 1600 sq ft cottage was built in 2009 with a modified Craftsman flare. It was lovingly designed & furnished by the owners. Vaulted & high ceilings, skylights, big windows, natural maple cabinetry, & natural limestone flooring make the open space living area very light & bright. The gourmet kitchen is fully equip for big or small cooking & dining needs. **Internet speed is 10 Mbps. The master bedroom has a king size bed & is en-suite. The bathroom is tiled & has a huge shower. A sliding glass door leads to a covered deck where you can enjoy your morning coffee or tea. The guest bedroom has 2 twin beds. The adjacent bathroom has a bath tub & shower. The bedrooms are separated by the living area. Both bedrooms have hard wood floors. The living area has a queen size sofa bed & flat screen TV. The laundryroom is equipt with washer, dryer, sink, built-in ironing board & iron. The covered front porch is a great place for watching amazing sun sets, spotting a wild turkey or listening to dove coo. In Ramona there are golf courses, hiking trails, antique shops, parks, grocery stores, restaurants, wine tasting vineyards, horseback riding & a new library. 20-60 minutes from Ramona there are movie theaters, the San Diego Zoo, Legoland, Sea World, Old Town, Sea Port Village, San Diego Harbor, Balboa Park & Museums, Shelter & Harbor Island, Point Loma Lighthouse, Deep Sea Fishing, Historical Missions, The Old Globe, Lycium & Lamb's Players theaters, San Diego Beaches & activities, sporting events, music concerts, Palomar Observatory, Mt town of Julian, Laguna Mts, Gambling casinos & outlet shopping, & Anza Borrego State Park (desert). 90 minutes away is Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Magic Mtn; Palm Springs, La Brea Tar Pits, Scripps Institute of Oceanography & much more.

This was my first experience in a vacation rental and it could not have been any better. Bev and Richard are wonderfully welcoming and responsive hosts — their home is immaculate, so comfortable, so thoughtfully stocked with EVERYTHING and ANYTHING one could possibly want/need —especially when there for an extended stay as I was. The house is beautiful and exactly as depicted in the photos. And dogs are welcome! I cannot imagine staying anywhere else when visiting Ramona. Thank you Bev and Richard!

We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable VRBO! The house is very clean and we really liked having access to a garage for our cars. The kitchen is well stocked and we enjoyed spening time in the kitchen and great room as a family.

My husband, myself, and my mother were here for 10 days in May 2023 with my two doggies for my son's wedding nearby. It is down a quaint country road, on our walks we saw some friendly goats, sheep & horses a few houses away. The house was much more spacious than the pictures show. Tons of counter space in the kitchen. Lots of kitchenware-- they have everything we needed and more. Very clean, beds were very comfortable. Very long counter in laundry room so that all the wedding stuff we were storing fit there and didn't take over the house, although there was plenty of room in the 2-car garage as well. There is some road noise from the highway but this didn't bother us at all- only noticed it during commute times if we had the back door to the porch open. We kept the window blinds pulled up the whole time to take in the wonderful views from every angle. It was a peaceful, lovely time there, and when in Ramona, we will stay here again.

Such a beautiful home! We spent a long weekend in Ramona for a wedding and this was the perfect place for our family of six. The location is only a couple miles to the main part of Ramona, the house was spotless, the front garden is gorgeous, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had all the necessities, and there was even a little welcome basket with snacks and coffee. The hosts were very accomodating and kind. The backyard is fully fenced, which was perfect for our dog. I loved the big kitchen, comfy master bed, big master bedroom (we had two pack n plays in there for our little children and still plenty of room!), and really appreciated the ability to use the laundry room (even stocked with laundry soap, an iron, and an ironing board for when i needed to iron our wedding attire). My two older kids stayed in the second room and loved that they got their own seperate beds. We had such a great stay and we will definitely be back for another stay next time we are in the area.

We loved this airy, spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained house, which was perfect for our two-month stay in north San Diego County. The floorpan is ideal for two couples or a family: master bedroom/bath + separate laundry room at one end, second bedroom/bath at the other end, and a large, well-equipped kitchen, dining area, TV area, and sitting area in the center. While the location is a distance from coastal areas, San Diego proper, and the airport, it is nicely situated for exploring the Ramona Valley wine country, and it's close to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

We had a very nice stay in this comfortable home. The property was very clean and had a nice layout. The kitchen was beautiful. The living area was open and spacious, and had plenty of natural light. The entry garden was charming. Overall, we thought it was a great value.
One of the best things about staying at this property was the responsiveness and thoughtfulness of the owners. They took extra measures to help us have a lovely Christmas stay.

Very nice layout of the house. It has great counter tops of granite with hues of various olives and pimento. The floors have fossilized squid and other prehistoric creatures. The kitchen is very nice.

The property served our purposes well for our time with the grandkids. The home is open and worked well for the kids and 2 small dogs. The fenced backyard was a plus for the dogs.

We stayed at the Weekend Villa for the week. Very spacious home for our family of 4. House was adequately stocked. Kitchen was great!! Everything we needed to prepare our meals with ease! Highway is located behind the house but it didnt bother us. We had our coffee on the front porch every morning and it was so peaceful to just sit and relax. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you!!

Peaceful, lovely home
We loved our stay. It was the perfect home base for my kids and I while we visited with family and prepare to move to the area. The house is very clean, feels spacious and had everything we needed including a yard for our dog. The neighborhood is quiet and very peaceful and my kids loved seeing the horses and the sheep down the street. We had a wonderful experience.

The house is beautiful. It however backs up to major highway into town which is very loud. The next door neighbor's yard is very messy, stuff everywhere including cars sitting with the hoods up like they have been abandoned. They also have 3 untrained dogs that get very little attention and bark continuously.

It is a small house that is very nice. There is a fenced-in backyard for the dog. This rural area has horses, lamas, goats, chickens, and wild turkeys. The only thing that I did not like was that the house was close to the highway.

This house has everything you need and more and was a heavenly oasis for us during an otherwise quite stressful coast-to-coast relocation for my new job. We had sold our home in Massachusetts and were headed into uncertainty when and how we would find a new home in the San Diego area in a low-inventory house market. Richard and Beverly allowed us to book their pristine vacation home for 8 weeks and bring our dogs. We were so relieved that they could stay with us during the moving ordeal. We were welcomed with a basket with treats for us and the dogs to enjoy. How nice was that after the 5 day drive through the Country! The house is all updated, safe, bright and very spacious with all the kitchen gadgets you could wish for and fast WiFi for the many teleconferences I had in the mornings. The location is great as well, Ramona has a lot to offer, grocery stores, restaurants and the Grasslands Preserve for a cool summer morning walk on the weekends. It was an easy commute to the new workplace in La Jolla as well. I can highly recommend this rental and hope we can come back some time for a real vacation.

It was wonderful and relaxing staying in this home for the last few days. It’s nice the way the bedrooms are in opposite sides of the home, it makes you feel like you have more privacy. Our dog really enjoyed the large yard. I would definitely recommend.

I would recommend this home to anyone staying in the Ramona area, we stayed 30 days waiting for the completion of our home being built. What a lovely house and community!
The house was perfect for me. My pup Boone loved the fenced in yard and all the hiking trails in the area. Dick and Beverly were terrific hosts and were able to far exceed all my requests and needs. I enjoyed my trip so much that I’ve decided to move to Ramona!

Excellent Home
Richard and Bev's house worked out so perfectly for us. We could park on motorhome right on the property! We enjoyed our stay so much but due to the COVID 19, we had to go home early. We are looking forward to a do-over in the future. Ramona is a great town and the area is wonderful. Also close to San Diego. Thank you so much!

Beautiful home "away from home"!
We spent 10 days in Richard and Bev's stunning home. We arrived Christmas Eve to find a welcome basket, Christmas decorations and even a small Christmas tree! The home is beautifully decorated with every need thought of! The kitchen has every appliance, kitchen tool, and dishware you could possibly use. It is bright and cheery even though we didn't have the typical sunny, warm CA weather. We enjoyed hosting our son and his fiancee, who live in Ramona, in this relaxing atmosphere. Thank you, Richard and Bev, for making our trip so special! We are already looking forward to our next visit in your splendid home.

Nice home beautifully decorated and furnished. Kitchen is equipped and arranged great for entertaining or just relaxing. Very nice small community, great for walking or running, yet very close to Ramona and surrounding Cities and attractions.
Owners were very attentive to any request or questions. Always available and quick to respond, yet never seen.

Our mom lives in Ramona and my sisters and I needed a place to gather to celebrate her 80th birthday. This home was perfect! We loved everything about the home. The quality of materials and the attention to detail both inside and out is well beyond what one expects in a rental. The home was clean, cozy and comfortable. Everything was as described in the listing. The owners are lovely. I have relatives who stayed here previously and also were very happy. I would love to stay here again!
