A very special stay for us.

The view was gorgeous. The room a great size and loved the fire if it was a chilly evening. The young girl running the motel was so lovely. She was friendly, chatty and ran the motel so well. Breakfast always set out so well too. Thank you to her! The motel has a shuttle service which was excellent as you are a little way out of town.

Felt like staying at a spa. Quiet, beautiful, bliss.

The grounds and room were so peaceful. The room felt luxurious. I’m so glad I stayed outside of the FJ main drag.

I can’t think of anything I would change.

Very good

Our room was upgraded, giving us a spa and more space. Very clean. Quiet and peaceful setting. Lots of lovely eating places to choose from in town.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't very co-operative, raining quite a bit. Can't plan everything!

A wonderful and relaxing stay

If only we could have stayed longer. Literally this is an oasis of tranquility after visiting the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers. A beautiful, garden setting on the north side of Franz Josef. We sat out on the decking overlooking the pond late afternoon listening to birdsong. The rooms were amazing, spacious, well planned with a huge bed and large bathroom. We paid for continental breakfast and were very happy the selection.

A+ for cleanliness

Probably the cleanest place we've ever stayed in. We found the room to be immaculate.

Would've liked a toaster in the room.

Feels overpriced for what you get but staff very helpful

having had a few issues with the TV and fridge these were sorted out very quickly and appreciated the gesture of a free breakfast to make up for it

TV was not working, neither was the fridge (but as above this was sorted quickly). A bit far out of town with no real view of the mountains so unsure why the cost was so high compared to other places further into town

Lovely and comfortable stay

quiet, quaint, comfortable, clean, and perfectly located. the room was excellent. spacious with lovely views. laundry facilities were an added bonus! really liked that if wax slightly outside the main busy area of the village but only a 3 minute drive to restaurants.

we did not get to enjoy the on-site dining, but we really appreciated the recommendations. there’s nothing really that we didn’t enjoy. It was absolutely perfect!

Rained and rained but room was a fantastic place in which to stay

Excellent room. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Unfortunately food offered was nowhere near what was expected.

Would definitely recommend it and would stay there again

Spotless room. Great views and only 5 minute drive into the village.

The only downside was the restaurant was not open.

Great night sleep

Very comfortable bed and very clean.

Restaurant was closed, no breakfast was available and we were not told about it before arrival. Only Freeview channels are available to watch, so not great for “luxury”.

Disappointing

It's isolated. So maybe the peaceful environment was something I liked.

Book this property only if you have a car. A trip to town costs you NZD 12.50 Per Person Per Trip. Also make sure that you get a room that has a window. We supposedly booked a 'King Suite' and the only 'opening' it had was a glass door. At NZD 400 per night it was a let down.

Modern , comfortable, clean .

Nothing, everything was as expected, only 4 mins into town . Not a problem.
