I hadn't even realized I'd stayed at this same hostel a few years ago, as it has since changed its name. It used to be called Wabi Sabi Hostel Istanbul. I'm actually surprised by its overall rating, because I had pretty much the same experience both times I've stayed here.
The hostel is just a short walk from Taksim Square and its metro station, which makes it a great location. Taksim is a lively area, especially in the evening, but the hostel is tucked away in the backstreets, so it's still quiet enough to get a good night's sleep.
I booked a bed in a 4-bed dorm, and everything went well. There are lockers to store your belongings, but you'll need to bring your own padlock. The beds are comfortable and have privacy curtains. There's also air conditioning/heating and Wi-Fi. You use a magnetic key card to access your room, which is convenient.
The hostel offers a few extra services, including breakfast, laundry and towel rental. The showers have hot water too.
Considering how expensive Turkey has become, I found the dorm prices quite reasonable, especially given the location and facilities.
A couple of things worth mentioning: this is a fairly large hostel, with lots of people sharing the facilities. As a result, the cleanliness of the bathrooms can be hit or miss. Sometimes you have to check a few different bathrooms before finding one that's properly clean, as not everyone cleans up after themselves. The magnetic key cards can also be a bit temperamental at times, so you'll need some patience.
Other than that, everything was fine during my stay. In fact, I ended up extending my stay by a few extra nights, which probably says enough!

I liked the staff, everyone was super chill and flexible. I was staying in female 8 beds room, there were no major problems, everything was clean as well. Beds had their own curtains, ensures the privacy and if it's too dark you can turn your own light that hangs on the bed's side. There was no noise coming from the hallway. I would deffinitely come again!
Bed curtains in Mixed rooms were shorter than the ones in female rooms. Either your feet or your head is exposed and that was very uncomfortable.

They bullshit about AC broken down. But non of the rooms have AC controller. They just don’t allow customers to use them.
Public space is really small with so many people living there which is obviously not enough and very lack of public facilities like kitchenware , body shower, shampoo, no towel. Fridge is super tiny and terrible organization
