Very clean, excellent value

Usually hostals are very social but this is more like a bed and breakfast hotel with friendly staff and highly personally managed. The common spaces are very very comfortable with several couches and tables to relax outside your room. Our room was very large and it included a desk too. Hot shower and very full breakfast was excellent. Good location only 10 minutes from main plaza. The street is very active during the day with business activities but quiet at night.

The Wi-Fi was very spotty so if you rely on strong WiFi for remote work, they need to upgrade the WiFi.

Comfortable stay

Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location - close to historical centre and to the travel agency where I booked all my day tors. Good and generous breakfast from 7 a.m. Free water and tea Areas for common use (sofas, balcony) inside and outside. Comfortable bed.

During my stay some guests spent one long and chatty evening in the lounge next to my room, which I didn’t enjoy for obvious reasons. The other nights were fine.

We like a lot the comfort of the bed, the breakfast was complete and staff was very helpful and kind.

Room completely different to what we booked and paid for - changed hotel

The manager agreed to a refund so we could find an alternative hotel

The room was completely different to what we had booked and paid for (no balcony, no patio, no matrimonial bed). The room we booked had clearly been given to someone else, however they were happy to charge us anyway. We ended up getting a refund and finding an alternative hotel.

Noisy wooden floor and stairs, you can hear everybody using them all times a day, very thin walls as well Nobody spoke English, so our very basic Spanish and gestures allowed only very simple communication

Superb

Great location, right on the historical center. The staff is amazing, I can't have gluten and they went above and beyond on my breakfast, always having something different for me. I am really grateful. The bed is comfortable and the room extremely clean. They have water and tea available at all times.

The only thing I had a problem was with the internet. I was working and it was very slow to get business calls.

Unmatched in quality and price, amazing stay

staff were all very friendly and helpful. gave me great advice for transportation, and the room was spotlessly clean. very well kept and impressive place. I highly recommend it. the breakfast was exceptional.

The rooms were very nice and clean, the location is good and the staff is extremely friendly! They helped is out with the laundry and when one of us did not feel great!

Be aware that this is more a hotel than a hostel. In case you are looking for a hostel with shared activities, you might want to go for another placs.

Pleasent stay, great breakfast and good location!

Great shower, comfy bed and plenty of drinking water available.

When I asked to pay by card on arrival I was denied the opportunity. Even though the front door has visa and credit card stickers and the terminal was behind the desk.

the building itself is old and therefore very noisy. you hear noises on the corridor and at the entrance inside the room

Super central and cheap room in Cuenca

Location (7 minutes by feet from main square) Good Breakfast included. Safety. Free drinkable water. Daily eoom cleaning. Hot water shower. Helpful staff.

Great location and great option to stay in Cuenca.

Excellent breakfast: Natural juice, coffee, scrambled eggs, bread, fruit, yogurt and granola. Good shower with hot water and very comfortable bed.

My room was not available when I arrived at the hotel, despite the fact that it was within the allowed check-in time. Card payment machine not available. Wifi very unstable in the room. A lot of outside noise in the room facing the street.

the people were great! and the cleanliness was incredible!

unsupervised pets, the guest leave their pet inside the room when they go out, makes the pet stressed which makes them bark. that’s not acceptable.

Cuenca is a beautiful city and Casa de Lidice is a good place to stay.

night staff was extremely unhelpful, couldn’t tell me if it was safe to walk at night or if anything was open to eat (there were many restaurants open once i went out, even though he told me everything was closed), when i came back it was impossible to sleep as there were two seating areas right next to my room: one directly outside my window and the other right outside the hallway door, both locations were full of loud drunk people, making it impossible to sleep, well past midnight. additionally the wifi connection is terrible, dropping in and out and basically not functional.

Great comfortable hotel! You should go

I can not say enough positive words about that hotel! I have spent 5 weeks in Ecuador and this hotel felt like an oasis! It's super modern, new, clean with a great terrace, nice staff and everything just feels super secure and comfortable. Definitely highly recommended!

The breakfast wasn't too great but there is lots of breakfast places in town.
