The Hostal is in a prime location, just three blocks from Parque Calderon, in the centre of Cuenca.
It is a heritage building and has colonial era charm.
Our room was spacious with a high ceiling and a large double bed.
We rented a Family Room. The ensuit bathroom was on a mezzanine floor in the apartment. Just felt we needed to be careful on the stairs.

A great homely, friendly place worth repeat stay. All hotel amenities, walking distance to city centre, attractions, bus tour companies, eateries, fast tram to airport and bus terminal, shops and city life. Very nice personable owner and staff, always willing to help.
Great value for money so not much to complain. Only that street is deserted in evening so be aware, although city centre nearby is alive with people until 9 pm.

The location can't be beat! The hotel is conveniently located close to the historic district and is only a mile away from Terminal Terrestre for easy day trips to Cajas National Park and Ingapirca. The staff, though can't speak English, made every attempt to help us out. Thanks Nelson and Christian!
We stayed for 3 nights, and there was no room cleaning provided (didn't feel sanitary as the used toilet paper sat in the bin for the length of our stay). We skipped a few showers as the water is cold. I wish water in the shower was hot.
