Situated in Manteo, this charming condo for $375 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Shallowbag Bay 505, "Sounds-Fishy", is a 3 bedroom 2 and a half bath condo located in the premier marina waterfront community of Shallowbag Bay Club on Roanoke Island in Manteo, NC offering water front and marina views. The condo unit is on the top floor, one level, with elevator access and is one of the more ideally located condos offering the best all-around views. The rear deck overlooks the waterfront sound, Historic Manteo, and pans east across the sound to Jockeys Ridge. The front deck features a large covered porch and deck overlooking the marina. We love the top floor as it allows the best views, breezes, sunrises and sunsets. The condo is renovated with a bright, cozy, beachy feel. It is tastefully decorated with fun beach themed cheerful décor. The living room has a couch, love seat, chair and a large flat screen Smart TV with DIRECTV service. Sliding glass doors bring you outside to a deck accessible from the master suite as well. There are covered and open sections with 6 bar height chairs, 2 pub tables and 2 Adirondack chairs with a small table. Perfect for morning sun or afternoon shade. The back deck also has 4 bar height chairs and a pub table, perfect for sipping a drink and watching the sunset. The fully stocked kitchen has stainless steel appliances, a kitchen bar area with 4 bar stools overlooking the open floor plan combining the living room, dining room and kitchen into one open space. The dining room has a large table that seats 6. The master suite has a king size bed, private attached full bath with over sized shower, flat screen TV, dresser and usable closet. Sliding glass doors open to outside deck with marina, sound and marsh views. Bedroom 2 has a queen size bed, with attached full bath shared with Bedroom 3. Bedroom 3 has 2 twin size beds. The bedrooms share the attached full bath with tub/shower. Both have flat screen TV, dressers, nightstands, and usable closets. Both have sliding glass doors that open to an outside deck with sound front views, perfect for enjoying the evening sunset. If you need a minute to yourself there is a bright sunroom with beautiful views of the sound. You can close the door and have a quiet place to enjoy your morning coffee or get a little work done at a desk, in peaceful surroundings. The famous Outer Banks beaches, attractions and an endless supply of restaurants options are in close proximity, just a short car ride from our location. The many public beach accesses, most with free parking allow the convenience of parking close to the beach. Many beaches with bathrooms and bath houses. We like using OBXbeachaccess .com for exact locations and amenities at each access. Outer Banks is also famous for their fishing and is a fisherman's paradise. There are many opportunities for in-shore, offshore or pier fishing. This area of the Outer Banks offers world class fleets of charter boat opportunities. Launching points for charter fishing include marinas in Wanchese and Pirates Cove Marina in Manteo, the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, and Hatteras Inlet. Also, if you bring your boat, (up to 21ft.), or trailer, parking and day dockage is available (must register in advance, no extra fee, ask for details). Larger boat dockage is available through the marina. We love that the restaurants, shopping, waterfront and attractions of downtown Manteo which are located minutes away and are accessible by car, bike or a short walk. Many an afternoon or evening can be spent wandering the downtown areas boutiques, bookstore and gift shops. The area is rich in attractions and local history. Not to be missed is the Saturday farmers market (mid-May through mid-Sept 17, 9am-1pm), in downtown Manteo on the waterfront, at George Washington Creef Park. Local art, fresh produce and baked goods are available to name a few. For coffee lovers, please visit our local coffee shops. The Front Porch Cafe (0.3 miles) and Charis Coffee Company both (1 mile) for your convenience. There is a grocery store, CVS, ABC store, and many other restaurants and shopping all within a few minutes of the condo. Manteo is rich in attractions, as we are located so close to some of our favorites like the NC Aquarium, Roanoke Island Festival Park, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, Elizabethan Gardens, and the Lost Colony Outdoor Drama to name a few and all here on Roanoke Island. Loved our stay. Cleanest VRBO we’ve ever stayed in. TY! Tall porch chairs are great. Would be nice to have 4 with arms on smaller deck outside queen bed room. The condo is as advertised. It is professionally decorated with quality furniture and fun artwork on all the walls. The kitchen is well equipped and absolutely clean. We enjoyed the water views on both sides of the condo. My favorite thing was sitting on the deck listening to the water lap in the marina. The deck furniture was top quality and clean. The owners have obviously paid attention to detail. The location was close to all the historical sights we wanted to see. Of all the condos I have ever rented, this one is the nicest. We would love to stay here again in the future.

From the moment we booked, until the moment we checked out, we had an exceptional experience. The hosts offered a list of places to eat and things to do beforehand, simplifying vacation planning. We used many of their recommendations, and loved each of them. The property was very disability friendly, being all on one floor, with an elevator that went right from the parking spot to the front door. The rental was clean, well maintained, and offered incredible views, comfortable beds, and all the amenities we needed. The surrounding area was also wonderful! Downtown Manteo was darling, with lots of quaint shops and places to eat and benches to stop and take it all in. We'll definitely be back.

The unit itself is very nicely furnished and quite spacious. It's located close enough to Manteo proper for easy access to and from town. The hosts were very accommodating leaving/emailing us ample information about the area, and it's places of interest for tourists including choice dining recommendations...which were spot on. We had been to OBX many times before but our friends had not. Although very familiar with the area, the hosts still provided some interesting information that we also found most useful.

The condo was one of the best rentals we have done through VRBO. The location was great; peaceful and quiet, yet still close to everything. The unit itself was clean and well appointed. The owners were responsive and a pleasure to work with. They provided us a list of suggestions for things to do, places to eat, etc. That were very helpful. We really enjoyed our vacation!

Our family enjoyed our first trip to the Outer Banks at Sounds Fishy! It's a beautiful and spacious condo near the waters of the bay in Manteo. The place was really clean, well kept, and provided all the comforts you can have in a home away from home. The owners were very nice and informative in our communications. Everything about this trip was perfect! The location, the size and expectation of this property were all spot on. Although not beach front, the location allowed us to try different beaches each day. We chose to stay in Manteo as a central location so we could explore Corolla, Duck as well as Pea Island, Hatteras and Ocracoke. The location was perfect, right over the bridge, and so close to a great coffee place, right on the water to watch the sunset over the bay, and close to downtown Manteo for some shopping and the light house, plus Kill Devil Rum distillery! We also took two rides to the mainland to see the bear at the Alligator River Refuge.
The condo was clean, spacious and perfect for our family! We highly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at the condo in Manteo. The online pictures do not do it justice. It was spotless upon our arrival, was inviting and comfortable, and had everything we needed during our stay. Robert and Lisa were very easy to work with, and responded to all of our questions in a timely manner. The check in/check out process was very easy. The condo is in a great location and provided beautiful views of the sound and the marina. We would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in vacationing in the Outer Banks!

This was our first visit to OBX, and we loved it. The condo is immaculate and beautifully decorated, and the views from the balconies are gorgeous. There are groceries, restaurants, and shops within walking distance.
We were at first disappointed that the hot tub is not operational, but as it turned out, we were so busy I don't know when we would have had time to use it!
We did a tour to see the wild horses, went fishing with Backin' Up Sportfishing Charters, went on an airboat ride, and took the ferry to visit Okracoke! The kids enjoyed playing pool and ping pong at the clubhouse.
Robert and Lisa were very easy to communicate with, and provided compensation for a minor inconvenience.
We would most definitely stay here again.

We had an excellent week in Manteo. Property was just as described, everything in excellent condition. Great views in all directions, kids and grandparents both loved the birdwatching from the balcony. Had bikes delivered and they were ready and waiting, easy paths to get into downtown Manteo plus the north parts of Roanoke Island. Easy access to food, historic sites, waterfronts, and quick drives to both sound and beach access was great.
Went to quite a few of the places recommended by our hosts and all were excellent. Just had to be a little careful about times and days everything was open since it was technically off-season.

Location on the Sound has beautiful sunrise and sunset views. Neighborhood is quiet and secure. Condo has ELEVATORS, which is a very important amenity for us old folks with fake knees.
The internet pictures don't do this condo justice. It has obviously been remodeled recently and the decor is stylish and current. It is immaculately clean, beautifully bright with natural light, and has everything a renter could possibly need.
Our unit had its own designated parking and there is a quality restaurant right on the property. Downtown Manteo is a few blocks away!
Communication with the owners was polite and professional. Check-in and check-out were seamless. This will be our go-to condo for future OBX visits, which we do several times per year.

Robert & Lisa were very helpful with the entire rental process, the condo is AMAZINGLY beautifully decorated and very well equipped. I strongly recommend bringing your boat if staying in this beautiful little harbor called Shallowbag bay! I could easily move in tomorrow and never go home! You will Love it here!

Relaxing and Beautifully Decorated
Our family fished out of Wanchese. This location was not only perfect for getting to the dock but was also very spacious and beautiful. We had plenty of room and loved that each bedroom had it's own balcony access for relaxing. Dining is within walking distance. We felt at home and had more than expected. Robert was also friendly and responsive in a timely manner.
