What an absolute delight this property is - and also the owners! It is possibly my favourite ever holiday accommodation.
Communication with the owner, Tea, was excellent from the outset and she kindly agreed to meet us at the bus station to take us to the house. Tea arrived with her husband who spoke more English and who was also delightful. He explained some of the history of Matera and places of interest. He carried our cases to the house for us.
What a beautiful property with excellent facilities and a wonderful outside area for the most perfect evenings. It is about a 3 minute walk to the main Duomo Square with stunning views of Matera - especially of an evening!
The fridge was stocked with water and breakfast provisions - ham, cheese, yogurts, juice, fresh bread and fresh milk! There were biscuits, jam and plenty of tea and coffee.
It was spacious, spotless and so comfortable - even better than the photos suggest. It was just perfect.
Tea arranged a taxi back to the station for us and she and her husband arrived on the day we were leaving to carry our bags back to the taxi. Such a kind thing to do.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat if we return to Matera - which we hope to do!

The only tiny thing - and it is a totally, tiny, personal thing - is that we would have liked an electric kettle to boil water for tea in the morning. I know that sounds so British, but that's just me. We managed with the gas stove and a pan from the cupboard. It in no way detracts from the perfect stay that we had here :)

We loved everything about this accommodation from the excellent communication with the host to the beautiful property itself.
Tea went above and beyond to make the stay perfect from quick communication to collecting us from the bus station and arranging our taxi back.
The house itself was perfect, with everything we could need, and more! Perfectly located - just a few steps from Via Duomo.
The rooms were spotless, the shower fantastic and the beds so comfortable. Everything had been thought of by the host, including milk in the fridge for the English cuppa!
Seriously, you can't go wrong if you book this property!
We will return to Matera - the most magical city, and this most magical property!

We loved the location right in the heart of the Sassi but quiet, the incredibly helpful owners and the large size of the apartment. The kitchen was also well equipped. All the restaurants, bars and activities recommended by Tea and Martino were excellent. We really appreciated the assistance with parking and transfers to the apartment

An incredible two-day stay in Matera! From the very moment the hosts, Tea and Martino, picked us up from the car park outside of town, they made us feel incredibly welcome in their beautiful family home. Their local recommendations were absolutely excellent. It was also a wonderful bonus to see the beautiful street lights turned on and ready ahead of the Festa della Bruna festival on the 2nd of July! The kitchen was stocked with a fantastic spread of breakfast snacks which was a lovely touch. Matera is a beautiful town, and the wonderful hospitality here made our trip completely unforgettable.
