Homey and welcoming in a quiet neighborhood

Our room was large and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was updated and very clean. Ruwani is the most charming and welcoming of hostesses, making you immediately feel at home. Breakfast was well cooked with good options and is served in a light-filled room with a view of the garden, which is available for guests to use in good weather. The location is on a quiet residential street, a bit further from the center of the city but walking distance.

The entrance area and carpets are a bit worse for wear but the pluses more than offset that initial impression.

Exceptional

The proprietor was super helpful with an evolving check in time and the location excellent for the purpose of my visit. Breakfast was very good, as were the facilities. There's also a lovely black lab who is very friendly and loves cuddles.

Fantastic B&B

This was one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in. Starting with a cheery greeting from our lovely host Ruwani and her smiling dog Bella, we were shown to a lovely, clean and well appointed room. The bed was comfy and the shower in our own private bathroom was wonderful. There were many small but lovely touches, such as a huge array of toiletries, which really enhanced our stay. Breakfast was amazing with a range of options normally only found in a hotel. Everything was cooked to perfection and it was a substantial start to the day. The location was excellent with free parking right outside and a gentle ten minute stroll leads to the market place at the heart of the city. Overall, if you are considering a short stay in Salisbury, I would heartily recommend this property.

Breakfast choices were superb. Location ideal for us. Hosts couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Nothing too much trouble. Great to have a little fridge in the bedroom.

Great breakfast, great bedroom with nice and cozy bed. Wished I could stay longer to enjoy more of Salisbury. Ruwani was very receptive as well as her family. Would definitely suggest for other people to come and stay.

It was a perfect part of a magical anniversary.

We loved the Christmas decorations! The room had everything we needed. And we loved the breakfast, such a great range of choices.

Rue was a great host. The bed was really comfortable. Free parking was good - at the property and in town.

We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room. Spacious, quiet and comfortable we both had a good nights sleep and woke up to a hearty full english which was delicious. If you are looking to stay in Salisbury you could do a lot worse than stay here. Highly recommended PS They even paid for our parking

Get instructions on how to control the shower temperature and you will be fine.

Perfect getaway

Perfect spot with great service. Quiet and quaint. The breakfasts are delicious! The location was perfect. Walking distance from the center of Salisbury.

The bathroom isn’t inside the room and the water in the shower was boiling hot.

Amazing place that deserves praise

Breakfast was amazing and the rooms immaculate. Friendly and helpful staff. Every effort had been made for our stay, including the preparation of room and collection of key early. Also a fine array of toiletries in the bathroom and a delightful selection pf teas.

It is a lovely house, very comfortable. We received a very warm welcome, the room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. It is in a fabulous location, a quiet residential area and a short walk into town. Our breakfast was delicious on both days. I would definitely stay here again, we loved our stay.

Perfect stay

Such a helpful and friendly host. The breakfast was amazing and the room was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom had a beautiful big shower with towels, robes, shower gel, shampoo & more. Ruwani was there as much or as little as you needed. Would definitely recommend this place to stay for all.

A charming treat

The Old Rectory was a delight. The property is full of character while still providing top quality facilities. It is in an incredibly quiet location but so close to the centre of town. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it. Especially the comfortable bed!

Superb breakfast, I didn’t need to eat again all day.

Very welcoming host but disappointing stay.

The room was really pleasant with a very comfortable bed. We had a lovely garden view. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and it was good quality and well cooked.

When we came back in the evening my wife decided to have a shower but there was no hot water. It was explained to us the following morning that the boiler was off and British Gas was coming out later that day. However it was disappointing to have no hot water.
