We really loved our stay at Foozu Mantra Weligama . The property is beautiful and has a lovely old heritage-home feel, which gives it so much character and charm.
The location is also a big plus it’s right in weligama and very convenient for getting around to nearby places. There are plenty of small cafés and restaurants within walking distance, so it’s easy to step out and grab something to eat.
Overall, it’s a beautiful and peaceful stay with a unique, homey atmosphere, and we really enjoyed our time here.
There wasn’t really anything we didn’t like about the property. Since it’s a heritage-style home surrounded by greenery, you may come across a few small insects, spiders, or even a little frog here and there. But that’s quite understandable given the setting and didn’t bother us at all. It’s just part of the charm of staying in a beautiful, green heritage property.

I liked the house, the porch, the room, the garden and the pool. It is very nice old house. I would come again.
It is a bit remote, you will definitely need a tukutk to go around. There was no breakfast because it was july. It is written there in on Booking but it is not there.

Je suis revenue ici pour la seconde fois lors de mon voyage au Sri Lanka. Maison ancienne vintage, décorée avec énormément de goût et le sens du détail. Propret, confort, alliance de l’ancien et du moderne pour un séjour parfait. Ambiance méditative et très douce dans les chambres comme les espaces communs et le jardin. Un vrai paradis. Et le personnel ainsi que le propriétaire sont très arrangeant et gentils. Je reviendrai ici mille fois ! Côté transport, ne vous en faite pas il y a un bus en bas de la rue où tout simplement les Pick me (équivalent de Uber) qui ne coûte que quelques euros pour se déplacer dans le sud du Sri Lanka. Lieu très calme.

This is a historical building, and it carries that history.
The small lotus pond in the middle of the house is magical. It had FOUR different types/colours of Lotus flowers blooming. The terraces garden has many flowers.
Location: next to very busy road and very loud neighbours That, in combination with complete lack of sound insolation (especially in the upper room) really was not nice.
Our top room did not only lack insolation from noise, but also from the heat. Basically, you can see the daylight through the new roof. Hence, the airco needs to run full power (very loud) to keep the room cooled, in a very inefficient and non-ecological way. The huge old fan was very powerful, and also very loud. The passage to the bathroom (very nice bath) was dangerously low and in additional high. While I understand the historical constraints, automated lighting at night could prevent many painful head bumps.
Our bottom room was quite dark, and the outside shower offered no privacy to the neighbours.
The pool is ridiculously small, and actually quite dangerous.
