I had been given a key-code for the keysafe box but the box on the wall outside.
Unfortunately, the box wouldn't open- the flap wouldn't move to allow me a access the keys - it was really stiff. I tried to contact the owner but this went straight to ansaphone. Thankfully someone who was staying in another apartment managed to open the box.

The apartment was a good size.
Good bathroom and kitchen facilities.
Lounge area was good and the dining table was adequate for two people to sit at for meals. The two bedrooms both with double beds were comfortable and quiet overnight during our stay.
The location in Bondgate.
Bondgate is a rundown lots of closed shops and area needs a lot of renovation. That said the apartment is very close to the Auckland Tower, Castle, Cinema and Market Place, This area is nice with lots of street furniture and flower displays.

The property is affordable and the host is easy to communicate with. The size is more than decent (2x big bedrooms and a large living room). The internet works well and the place is equipped with all little useful perks (coffee, tee, milk, washing up liquid, paper towel, etc)
Well, it stank of cigarette smoke. We know it well and it is a stink (not a smell) of an interior in which someone has been smoking for a long time. It wasn't also cleaned up spottlessly. Last is a very poor acoustics, meaning it's loud and may be challenging to sleep (it was for us).
