'Camp Okee-Dokee' is a year-round vacation home that accommodates one couple, an entire family, or a group of friends... If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful retreat in the north woods for yourself, or to share some wonderful relaxing times with your close friends and family, Camp Okee Dokee is the place for you. You’ll love getting away any time of year to our cozy log home that offers a fireside view of your own private lake. In addition to enjoying the amenities on this 40 acre property, there's lots of things to do and see in the area year round. Pick your favorite season... We hope you’ll try them all! Use the home as your base camp for a wide variety of recreational activities and scenic north woods area day trips, or just kick back, relax and enjoy the quiet, calming sounds of nature in the north woods. Amenities • The cabin is nestled in a five acre meadow surrounded by forests. You’ll see deer, wild turkeys, hawks and an occasional bald eagle. • Spacious cathedral ceiling great room, fully equipped kitchen, dining room and library sitting area • Central gas fireplace • Lots of books, games, puzzles, TV • Master bedroom suite has a king size bed, sitting area for two, patio doors to private deck, private bath with Jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower • 2nd bedroom has queen size bed • 3rd bedroom has two twin beds • 4th bedroom has a full-sized bed • Common bath has tub/shower • Third bathroom has a small shower • Laundry room with washer and dryer • The cabin features a large backyard deck with gas grill, picnic table and umbrella table; a backyard fire pit, kids playground, and shaded hammocks and lounges under the trees. • Two private five acre bog Lakes: “Lower Lake Run-a-Muck” viewed from the cabin and “Upper Lake Run-a-Muck” which is a short walk through the woods. Both lakes have a dock with bench seating, and both have 3-4 person row boats. No swimming is allowed as these are dark, cold water bog lakes with muck bottoms. • For swimming, there are a number of excellent lakes and rivers with beaches nearby, including Norrie, Wilson, Phlox and Shawano Lakes and the Wolf, Red and Eau Claire Rivers. • Perch fishing at the cabin on Upper Run-a-Muck. Trout fishing off the bridge on nearby Silver Creek less than a 1/2 mile walk from the house, as well as on the West Branch of the Red River, Henning Creek and the Embarrass River all only 2-3 miles away. There's also lake fishing on nearby Phlox, Norrie, Hilger, Shawano and many others. Camp Okee-Dokee is the perfect getaway for a relaxing retreat and recreation with family and friends. Getting to Camp Okee-Dokee: • 1 hour or less away from Green Bay, Wausau and Stevens Point • 3 hours or less from Milwaukee and Madison • 5 hours or less from Minneapolis and Chicago There’s plenty of fun for everyone! • Biking (several bikes available at cabin) • Bird watching • Boating: Row boats provided at cabin lakes; bring your own for kayaking, canoeing or power boating at many area lakes and rivers. • Bowling: two nearby alleys are in wonderful condition and guaranteed to be a fun time. • Campfire pit in backyard. The place is very cool with all the big beams and the high ceilings. The bedrooms were very comfortable. The place was clean. Some of the furnishings could be cleaned or updated, but not that bad. The kitchen supplies need an overhaul. The pans are very old and don't sit on the stove flat. There are no wine glasses. The game situation is not great. But you can bring your own, of course. The outside property is very serene. We had fog every night, but we probably would have a million stars if we didn't because it's very dark there. Overall, it was a nice stay for our Christmas.

Our stay over Thanksgiving was wonderful. The kitchen had plenty of room for all the cooking we did and the grounds had plenty of room to keep our energetic dog very happy. The hosts were extremely accommodating. It turns out our dog is a bone thief and stole several bones from their dog. We all had a good laugh about it and they told us where we could get bones from a Bowler butcher for very cheap. I stocked up and brought as many home as my cooler could hold.
Relaxing by the fire and roaming the woods were two favorite activities.

So happy we stayed at this property for a long weekend! The hosts were wonderful and cued us in to things to do in the area (Oktoberfest in Shawano was a blast). We took so many photos from the trails around the property. It was so nice to relax and reconnect with our extended family. The home had everything we needed and then some. The property is very well maintained and perfect for a family get together. The home is beautiful and spacious. The pictures provided in the listing don't do the property justice! We had some rain but it didn't matter, there was plenty of room for game playing, talking, and eating. We live in SW Michigan and would make the trip again!

The cabin was clean and well kept but not so pristine that you felt you couldn't live in it. The hosts were great and the whole trip was seamless and relaxed. Lots of crafts and games for the kids and everything I needed for preparing meals inside and out.

It is a shame they have named this "Camp Okee Dokee." It is far better than just Okee Dokee! It is a beautiful building with all the amenities and tranquility anyone could need. We will definitely be back!

We had all these things planned for our week in Wisconsin. We ended up doing very little of it - the house was so great that the kids wanted to stay and fish, play on the playset and run with the dog in the big yard.
The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and more. No need to even bring any spices. The game closet was extensive! We brought some and didn't even unpack them.
The owner called with great tips on what to see and do - the ski show, a powwow - and which lake spots were best for swimming.

We stayed for 3 nights for a birthday celebration. The cabin had everything we needed and more. There was 4 of us and two small dogs. We made made meals from scratch in the kitchen, used the grill outside and roasted marshmallows by the fire pit. The surroundings and area are very quiet. No noise from cars, neighbors or anything! Just birds, chipmunks and the breeze in the trees! Hiked the 2 trails and walked the property. We did have to use some bug spray for this time of year and that is expected. On the one rainy day we made use of the puzzles, books, games and movies. The property manager helped us with a small matter and was available to resolve it. We appreciated that he was nearby. I especially like that we are able to have our dogs with us. It is nice to find a property that allows pets. We would love to come back in early spring or late fall sometime.

One of the highlights of our stay was visiting with our hosts, Miss Kim and Mr. Steve. They are very kind and friendly folks and we loved learning about the cabin's history, how the lakes were formed, as well as finding out tidbits of info about the local area. Go to Kropf's Meats, right outside of Bowler for you meats and cheeses, the quality and variety is exceptional and the prices are reasonable. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. It's a 657 mile drive from my home to Camp Okee-Dokee and worth every single mile.

Wonderful time at Camp OkDk. Place was clean and had many amenities. The pictures don’t do this home justice. Sat by the fire inside and out, cooked and grilled. Our dog loved to explore. Read books (thank you for the selection) and explored the neighboring towns.

This is the most relaxing place we have ever stayed. The surroundings are tranquil and serine. I was looking for a place to decompress, I live in suburbs of Chicago very close to O'hare airport and expressways. Getting out of the car on arrival and hearing birds and nothing else, I knew we picked the right place. The property was very clean and ready for us. They had everything we needed. We went to the local gas station/grocery store and they were stocked with everything, fresh groceries and even pizza. We ate at Rachels bar and grill and if you get a chance go, it was very good and the employees are very nice. I am grateful the property allowed us to bring our 2 dogs, we do not travel without them and are thankful. I thought the dogs would be more adventurous but they stayed close to the house for the most part, I am guessing they could sense the unknown in the woods. We are use to Racoons and Opossums a skunk once and a while but when we woke up to wild turkey noises and all the other strange noises we could not identify they did not venture off LOL. We saw a family of deer every morning we woke up in the brush, and they passed through the backyard once that we were able to see. The dogs were out there when the deer came by and all they did was look and lay back down. I think they enjoyed the down time too. Thank you very much, we loved staying here. One more thing...we loved the visit from the neighbor dog too, they played for a few minutes then he/she went back home.

We enjoyed the solitude of this home so much and took advantage of many nearby opportunities to bike, hike, kayak, shop and eat out. Would like to go back in the summer and/or around Christmas time and bring our family.

Incredible weekend, the cabin is very cozy, it has everything! Quite clean, spacious rooms, the exteriors are full of nature, an incredible landscape to escape from the city, quite calm. We got a lot of snow and evenso we enjoyed it (my pup more than us). We hope to be able to return for summer.
