The staff really care about their guests. They kindly accepted our request to change rooms, and while I was sitting at a table in the hallway, they even brought me a fan so I wouldn’t get too hot. Towels and bed linen were changed every day, and the beds were always nicely made. The breakfast was varied and tasty, even for someone like me who is definitely more of a meat lover!
There is a paid parking lot only about 30 metres away, but the hotel itself does not offer parking. There is also a mosque nearby – we slept with the windows open and at 5:20 in the morning the call to prayer was so loud that, for a second, I thought the priest had walked right into our room! :)

The staff were really nice and room was clean
The location. It was in the middle of small dirty alleys and didnt look safe late at night.

Gul Otel is a great value for your money. The room was very clean, we had everyday cleaning and changing of towels. Toiletries were of nice quality and the free water boiler with free tea and cofee was an extra positive surprise. Breakfast was very decent quality with quite a variety. The owners are extremely kind and always there to help with everything. They were so kind to give us the room earlier than official check-in time, and keep our luggage for a few hours after check out because of our late night flight. Distance to Metro Yenikapi is around 5 minutes walk, so very convenient. Overall, we had a pleasant and problem-free stay without breaking the buck.
We would like the room to have a chair and a stool, so that we could sit or place our suitcase. The water pressure, when hotel was very busy, seemed to have a bit of a struggle.

I picked a breakfast included room left the window open and reserved later but kinda I dont know how breakfast got excluded. And with this option, it said I needed to pay 12 bucks for a day of breakfast, but the hotel charged me initially 250 bucks for 6 days and only later agreed for 100, still they did not follow the policy.
1. Location, (there is no view, it is in the middle of cheap clothing market and may not be safe or pleasant at night, also very difficult for cars to move around tiny streets, you have to walk a few miles till the main street)
2. There is no AC in the kitchen, and dining area, terrace is kinda windowed, so air is trapped and may be really hot in summer,
3. Not all the food is fresh, deli products and some fruits are stored and re-served, so better watch out for food poisoning. Also the products used for breakfast are of lower quality cheap products, I only ate bread and some packaged jams (hygiene is not good at all)
Pictures were taken way back and it does not show the neighborhood at all, in my opinion this place is not suitable for a vacation with a family.
