The view - amazing. Had asked for a north west facing apartment, which we got. Had both a sunrise and sunset view, plus the everyday view looking over the bay and towards the city and beyond was excellent. Large spacious main balcony and a smaller balcony off main room. Perfect location, easy (and lovely) walk to a supermarket. Lots of restaurants nearby. Easy walk to a second bay/beach area and onto other walk paths. Good sized fridge and a washing machine. Good sized bathroom and plenty of hot water.

Not all sockets worked - frustrating. The kitchen poorly equipped. I had taken a couple of sharp knives (in response to other, earlier reviews) and was VERY glad that I had. The oven could operate as a grill - no toaster. Microwave/combi oven did not have tray/bowls etc of a height to be useful. Shower head did not stay in holder - frustrating.

The view is amazing! It's so close to the beach, bars, boulangerie etc.

It's getting a bit old and tired ie bathroom and kitchen but it all works.

The view was magnificent. The staff were very helpful.

The noise from the neighbors above and the noise from the nightclub below. WE had to purchase our own toilet paper and cleaning products and shampoo. Towels were not refreshed during the 11 day stay.

Apartment/ Location: The apartment was large and spacious with amazing views of the two nearby bays. The balcony was large and well protected from the weather. The nearby Baie des Citrons is an amazing bay with superb coral and reef fish, protected by a well-maintained shark net. Don't forget your goggles & snorkel!! The building location is ideal for access to the two tourist strips. Staff: Staff were pleasant and helpful and worked around the language barriers. They also gave us free wifi for our stay following the initial difficulties we experienced. Facilities: - Air con worked well and the apartment was nice and breezy. - Plentiful hot water for showering - Parking is free and relatively easy although it could be busy. - Safe provided. Why stay here: Space, location, but get a good price. A bit about New Caledonia: NC experienced riots in 2024 and has not really recovered in late 2026. Having a holiday aligning with school holidays in the 2nd half of Sept wasn't well timed as many stores are not open. Many businesses have ceased to exist. Remaining business operators are unreliable and renege on agreements. Opening hours are inconsistent. The main reason to visit is the natural environment which is fantastic, just limit your other expectations.

Apartment: The first apartment we were allocated had a number of issues including electrical wiring, safe problem, unusable window blinds etc. I showed some photos to the reception staff who arranged to move us to another apartment. The second apartment was in better condition with useable outlets etc. It wasn't a good start to an anticipated holiday. Overall, the building is tired but appears to be having renovations. The location and skeleton are great - it just needs to be maintained. The photos on the Booking.com site create an expectation of a better environment than it actually is. The apartment was prepared for us in a hurry so perhaps that's part of the reason, but with the breezes going thru the apartment, dust bunnies were blown around from under chairs and beds. Otherwise, it appeared reasonably clean. Rooftop Pool: The pool was located at another nearby building and required a key to access it from reception. It is technically a rooftop pool, but on a 1 storey building(!) It wasn't well set up with no shade and wasn't appealing. There was also construction work underway which blocked access to the entry door. We didn't use it. I was looking forward to swimming a lot of laps and building my fitness, but the pool wasn't suitable. There is no gym on the premises. The cafe associated with the apartments was open once in the 2 weeks we stayed there. Facilities: These are not provided and you will need to source/ pay for/ live without them - but this may be just the apartment we had: * house keeping costs extra * wifi cost a fair amount per day. Telecomms in Noumea is a monopoly so phone/ internet costs are high. * dishwashing liquid/ tablets, cleaning equipment e.g. broom, spatula, knife, toaster * toiletries in bathroom were limited and we ended up buying more * 1 pillow each. I asked for more and was provided some, which was good. They were clean but old.
