Location. Cosy & comfortable room.

Mouldy bathroom. Very rude reception staff. Dull & uninviting grey exterior. No internal phone to contact customer services. Own phone had to be used & directed to a call centre.

Location is great for Aviemore. Beds are comfy and easy to park. Most staff are very friendly too.

I had been coming here for a long time and standards have dropped. A few years ago I remember getting decent coffee, shortbread in rooms and water. Now it’s Nescafé and that about it. It’s getting dated and they seem to be cutting costs. Breakfast used to be much better with haggis and black pudding etc. Now the choice is limited. You can only get standard coffee. Worst aspect was as I used to love this hotel in previous years, I got the email asking if I wanted half price upgrade if lucky at check in. I chose this option and it said would find out on arrival and have to pay if successful. So I went onto website to see what this offering gave. A bigger room but also a Nespresso machine, robes etc. apparently. No one told me I had been upgraded on arrival and no extra money listed on the sheet I signed so I assumed a classic room. I noticed the room was large but there were no robes, standard kettle only provided, and Nescafé sachets etc in room so just assumed it was a large standard room. Only on leaving did they tell me I owed them for the upgrade to a suite and had to pay. Basically had to pay for a larger room with gives non of the offerings listed on the website for this room. I would not have taken the chance to get an upgrade if known this. If I am honest, the standards in this complex have dropped year on year and got to the point where I am now preferring the Premier Inn down the road as even the breakfast better there, and a choice of coffee types. And their beds are always comfy which is probably the only thing I found good at this hotel.
