About this house rental
Welcome to Bancroft Cottage, a charming oasis in the heart of town. Stay in one of the village's original homes, built in 1824 and lovingly restored with modern amenities. From the fully furnished interior to the beautifully landscaped yard and patio, you'll find a relaxing space located within steps of shops, restaurants, the TJ Evans Bike trail, and Denison University. Enjoy Madeline's gluten-free bakery across the street and Seek-No-Further Cidery just steps away.Truly the best location in the village!
We offer a unique setting for guests visiting Granville and its surroundings. You can expect a quiet residential neighborhood of historic homes, steps from dining and retail experiences as well as Denison University. The house has 3 upstairs bedrooms as well as a queen sized pull out sofa bed downstairs. 2 of the bedrooms have queen sized beds. The third bedroom has 2 twin beds. Full bathroom is downstairs with a 1/2 bath upstairs. Snuggle up by the fire inside the cottage during colder months, or relax on the patio surrounded by greenery when it's warm. No matter the season or reason, there's something to discover here.

*Seek-No-Further Cidery operates in the barn at the far end of the property. Guest have their own completely private space and patio. We hope that our guests stop over to say 'hi' and enjoy a local craft cider in the barn or the courtyard. Let us know you’re a guest at the cottage for a free cider tasting flight!
*Chiminea is provided on the back patio. Please bring your own firewood/starters if you'd like to utilize. Thank you!

The cottage was so very charming and it definitely felt one stepped back in time! THe location was superb. Wonderful positive surprises (did not pick up fully in the listing) included the gas powered fireplaces (there are two!) and cozy, private garden patio in back. One item I missed on the listing was that there was only one Bath/shower and it was on the main floor - not where the bedrooms are located - that said, the water was hot and there were plenty of cushy towels!
The other concern was the WiFi was very slow and "dropped" regularly throughout the day and evening - even on the main floor and I was the only one using the WiFi. I happened to catch a bad cold and spent alot of time in the cottage, streaming. I finally gave up and read my books.
Overall, would definitely book again! A treasured stay I will remember!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage. The location was perfect for us-close to everything we wanted to see and do in Granville! We also enjoyed having the cidery right next door, which was a fun bonus. The off-street parking was greatly appreciated and located just steps from the front door, making loading and unloading effortless. The cottage itself was cozy and full of character.

Thought we booked for 2 nights ( more than a mos. in advance) and then saw it was only 1 night. tried e-mailing to correct..no response, called ...slow response and person who called said they weren't in charge. Unhappy. Place was nice BUT the bedroom with twin beds seems VERY unsafe, stairs on landing etc.
