I booked a two night stay for my girlfriends birthday to longleat which was only a 20 minute drive, I looked around at reviews of other local places to stay and this one came on top.. the pictures looked nice and the price was reasonable.
Staying here is the best place we’ve ever stayed!, the building was absolutely gorgeous, the hosts Simon, Alyson & Jasper of course made us feel so welcomed nothing was too much trouble and we felt as if we were truly valued.
The room was perfect in every way possible there wasn’t anything we would have changed,
Breakfast was also Devine!!
We will certainly be booking another trip next winter without doubt,
Thankyou again 5 stars all the way!

Location perfect for work. Peaceful after a busy day. Great breakfast - loved the waffles. Luxurious, spacious rooms to relax in after work. Facilities are second to none. Have recommended already to colleagues for next year.

Couldn't get a better breakfast! The attention to detail was impeccable. Simon and Ali show how much they care with everything they do. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted even gave me a tray to take to the room for my wife who was feeling a little poorly.
A night light would have been handy. And two chairs instead of just one with somewhere to put the iPad to do some work in the room. And the plumbing could be improved a little.

Pretty location, premises were exceptional along with the welcome for ourselves and our dog. Large bedroom, with huge selection of coffees and teas. Breakfast was also first class (especially the Lincolnshire sausages). Unexpected touches were the dog welcome pack with a cooked sausage for our dog at breakfast time! Very highly recommended.

Aly, Simon and Jasper were the perfect hosts. We stayed here for two nights and must say the room was immaculate and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was of a very high quality and the location is perfect for a peaceful getaway. Fantastic location for visiting the Zoo, Glastonbury and other local attractions.

Breakfast was amazing, first class sausages & bacon. Didn't need to eat until dinner. The little touches felt very welcoming, lovely home made biscuits. The hosts came across as genuinely friendly people who enjoyed what they do. Would highly recommend this charming B&B as a great place to relax. Jasper the four legged host was the icing on the cake.

The most amazing place to stay. Rooms were large and very comfortable. So many little extras all included. Mini fridge, bath robes. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was fantastic. Best b&b we have ever stayed in. Look forward to returning again.

Everything was faultless from start to finish. Lovely hosts, amazing breakfast, exceptional property with every conceivable facility thought of. Not to forget to mention the incredible shortbread.

This is an exceptional place to stay. The room was large, lovely and warm and the bed was very comfortable. Within the room there was a variety of tea, coffee etc,fresh biscuits for both us and the dog, plus fresh milk was provided. The fridge in the room was really appreciated. Really nice toiletries in the bathroom with super soft towels.
We arrived with a dog and he was made as welcome as we were and there was also a basket full of dog goodies in the room. We had snow while we were there, but had the weather been better there were beautiful walks around the property and also dog friendly pubs/restaurants close by.
Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts and the breakfast was amazing.My husband went into Shepton Mallett hospital for an operation and on the day he was allowed out they kindly let me stay longer in the room.

Everything you could want in your room was there and more ! Simon & Ali had thought of everything x
Bed was super comfy and silky soft bedding ( best nights sleep I've had in ages ) bathroom was luxurious
Full english Breakfast was amazing
And jasper the Golden Boy retriever was super friendly
Can't wait to book up again and stay longer

Loved every second staying here, from check in to check out. The room was great, clean and big! The hosts were kind, fun and easy to talk to and made amazing breakfasts! The location is perfect for venturing to Bath, Glastonbury and Cheddar which is what we did and it was quiet at night so the sleeping was amazing. The pub is a short 3 min walk from the BnB so it’s a nice place to unwind after a day of adventuring and the breakfasts are so so good. Big portion and delicious breakfast to keep you going throughout the day.
Sophie and I will be staying here again if we are in the area for sure.

We both thought that this was one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed at. Simon and Alyson are so welcoming and friendly and the house is beautifully decorated and homely. The breakfasts were generous and delicious. There was a wide range of choices and everything was cooked perfectly.

I had a wonderful stay at the old stables. The room was delightful, the breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked and plenty of choice. The room was very nice, bed very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. Aly, Simon and Jasper were excellent host and couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. Also there is a pub within walking distance which serve good food at reasonable prices.

Loved everything about this little gem. Simon and Alyson were such amazing hosts, treated us like visiting friends.
The entire house was so clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped, you wanted for nothing.
Bedroom was gorgeous, bed so comfortable, slept so well.
Loved the delicious and huge variety of breakfast options.
The homemade cookies in our room were to die for!
Of course the welcome from Jasper (the family dog)
was something we looked forward too every day..
Can't recommend the Old Stables enough.

This is the best B & B I've ever stayed in. Luxurious, spacious, immaculately clean room and bathroom. Facilities outstanding with very fine eye for detail. Appreciated fresh milk provided. Superb breakfast. The hosts are warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. Mine was a working visit and it was great going back to a quiet, relaxing room. Great location if you are visiting the Bath & West Showground.
As a very fussy person when it comes to staying away there was nothing I didn't like.

The owners were absolutely charming, very friendly & helpful, the room was lovely, it was well equipped with tea/coffee, home made shortbread (very tasty) with a small fridge & also dressing gowns were supplied, bed was very comfortable, shower room was a good size and also well appointed, towels soaps etc, there was also free Wi-Fi which was good enough to stream Netflix on.
The breakfasts were excellent, but my wife is vegetarian & felt they could improve on that front.
The location & views were lovely with a charming local pub which served lovely food a few minutes walk away.
I would highly recommend this B&B.

The location was quiet and reasonably secluded, but with a pub serving evening meals just down the road we had all that we needed. The room was spacious, with both bath and shower in the bathroom. The breakfasts were good and the owners were friendly and keen to please. Maps were available for us to plan walks in the attractive surrounding countryside.
It is hard to find fault with anything. If I say that I was mildly disappointed that poached eggs (my favourite) weren't on the breakfast menu that gives an inkling of the struggle that I had to find fault.

Could have done with a shadier spot outside to sit. However, the weather was over 30 degrees and how often does that happen!

The attention to detail was impressive. The best B&B we have stayed in. Alyson and Simon were the perfect hosts. Selecting a time for breakfast was very good and breakfast itself was first class. Dogs 🐶 most welcome. We will return for sure.

Beautiful location, so peaceful and quiet. Simon and Aly were the perfect hosts as was the friendly Jasper! Everything was thought about in regards to the needs of guests. Breakfast was amazing- certainly set you up for the day. Good local knowledge from hosts. Lovely pub at the end of the lane serving fantastic food. Will definitely stay again.
Cannot fault this place. Definately a 5* bed and breakfast.
