With Haystack Rock marine and nature preserve and The Needles, ranked in the top 100 must see places by National Geographic, just outside the window, our home’s stunning backdrop marries perfectly with its exquisite, modern interior. All rooms face the ocean for spectacular daytime and sunset views. The gourmet kitchen features new top of the line appliances including a 6 burner professional grade stove and griddle plus a pantry with the basics and complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate. There's even a separate two drawer under counter refrigerator for all your cold beverage needs. Private and social areas are thoughtfully placed throughout the home so up to 8 guests can enjoy each others company or spend time on their own. The fireplace, library, tv's, and games complete the warm and inviting living spaces. All four bedrooms are private sanctuaries with comfortable beds that will sleep 8 and the four full spa-like bathrooms include complimentary toiletries. Two outdoor decks offer the best in indoor/outdoor living and the perfect place to watch the constantly changing ocean, beach goers and bald eagles in their search for puffins on The Rock. The lower deck features a 4 person hot tub, sofa, chairs and firepit and the upper deck is complete with comfy rocking chairs and a fire pit. There are also beach towels and four adult size bicycles available for your use. Located on a quiet, oceanfront street with easy beach access, it's a five minute walk to Haystack Rock and 8 minute walk to the nearest restaurants. Whether you want to explore the tide pools, take a walk or bike ride on the beach, stroll along the shops and galleries or do a coastline hike at nearby Ecola Park, On the Rocks is the perfect place to stay and explore all the area has to offer. We enjoyed our stay immensely. We were a group of five adults-(parents and adult kids). On the Rocks is a very well appointed home with an amazing view of Haystack rock. Beach access is nearby. We walked to Cannon Beach from the home and back again. Communication was easy and helpful. Beds were comfortable. Views were stunning.

What a great base to have in Cannon Beach. We have stayed at quite a few vacation rentals over the years, the amenities included, beach, kitchen and misc items that this house offers are top of the list in our experience.

Best of all is the view of Haystack rock and the great location, close enough to walk to coffee and restaurants but just far enough away to feel calm and quiet. Fun bonfires on the beach and well maintained hot tub to boot. You really don’t need to leave! 10/10!

We enjoyed the deck in the morning and evening looking out over the water. The house was very well appointed with everything you need. We do not typically go back to places but we all agree that we will definitely be back here!

The two decks of this extravagant house give bird's-eye views (literally) of Haystack Rock, and in a short walk you're on the sand exploring the tide pools, counting sea stars. Our 7-yr-old granddaughter, who lives in a land-locked state, couldn't get enough of running into the surf -- which is so safe there. The kitchen is as well equipped as we've ever encountered, the beds and pillows are perfect, the grill and fire pits and outdoor furniture work so well.

This was one of the nicest places we've ever stayed! We were celebrating my mom's 60th birthday and it this home exceeded expectations. It was very clean and the location was excellent. We had the best time enjoying the spectacular view on the deck (we even got to see a pod of orcas from the deck!), using the hot tub, and cooking in the gorgeous kitchen. Easy access to the beach and we walked to get coffee and pastries a few times at Sleepy Monk. What a perfect spot for a vacation- we're already looking at dates for next year!

What an incredible house and location! Joyce has it all, things you didn't even know you wanted were there waiting. We had a beautiful stay, every detail was a welcomed touch. It felt so homey. This place had everything you could hope for in a beach vacation. House was immaculate and beautifully decorated with every amenity you could hope for. Kitchen was fully stocked, including every kind of coffee maker you could want. Beds and linens super comfortable. 3 of the bdrms include the stunning view. Easy Walking distance to town and beach. But the best part is the view!! Pictures do not do it justice!

We had a wonderfully relaxing ladies getaway. Lots of visiting, reading and beach walks. The house is beautiful with a spectacular view and easy access to the beach. The kitchen has everything you can think of and more. If you enjoy cooking you won’t be disappointed. Loved having a fire in the evening with cocktails and watching movies. The property manager was very responsive to our needs. We’re hoping to book a return trip soon. We appreciate the owners sharing their beautiful home.

Amazing views from the moment you enter the house. All the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had every cooking appliance you may need. Everyone in our group commented that this was the BEST VRBO we had ever stayed in! We definitely hope to come back for another amazing visit.

Stunning home, breath taking view. My husband and I could sit on the top master bedroom deck for hours watching the waves crash onto the haystack. We felt like we had our own getaway within the house from the kiddos.
I wish I could take the oven range home and master shower upstairs.
The house was clean and so much detail went into welcoming you and making you feel like you were home. Very cozy.
The house was stocked with every imaginable kitchen appliance, utensils down to a organized junk drawer and first aid supplies!
Absolutely loved the welcome tote bag which had a cozy blanket and a bag of local coffee beans. Enjoyed fresh ground coffee every morning on the deck.
We forgot beach towels and thought we would have to go buy some. To our surprise Joyce had plenty nicely rolled up in the garage in a wooden chest for guest.
Beach toy tub and kites were a hit with the kids!
Our only downfall was the parking. Which Joyce communicated parking was tight. But we are a family of 8, with kids and lots of extra stuff. So we travel with larger cars that could not fit into the garage. Although we have been going to Cannon Beach for 20yrs, we were not aware there was no “overnight” parking 😩 The first night was a bit hetic trying to locate a spot for overflow parking. Finding limited and crowed public parking off of hemlock was hard. We had family staying in town and it was hard for them to find a spot to park when they came for a visit….
My husband and I feel like we won the lottery when we found this house to stay at. Especially for the price! We would love to return, but unfortunately can not afford the price increase. Not saying it’s not worth it, just out of our price range now.
Beautiful home and would go back in a heartbeat if life allowed!

This house, this location, this owner - each has top marks and all combine to create one of our favorite vacation rentals. Furniture, kitchen equipment and supplies, beds, bathrooms, deck furniture - everything is high quality and comfortable. Haystack Rock and the Needles sit front and center, for a glorious view. Of all of the VRBO homes we have stayed in, and there are many, this home is by far the nicest. The Gem of Cannon Beach
This house is perfect in every way. 3 of the 4 rooms have an en suite bath and the 4th has another bathroom close by. The views are spectacular. The kitchen is beautiful and well stocked. The location can’t be beat. Right in front of Haystack Rock and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. My only regret is not booking it for longer. I wish we would have had time to take advantage of all the amenities the house provides, from bikes to wood carriers for bonfires on the beach. The owner communicated promptly and was so nice! There is also a property manager available to answer any questions. I would 10/10 recommend this place!
