Good sized room, friendly staff, good location

Room was above main restaurant area so smell of cooking was prevalent and the lower part of the stairs were also used by restaurant patrons. Parking was on the side of the main road outside so somewhat vunerable to other hotel patrons coming and going

The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good. The location was just around the corner from the ferry.

I was disappointed that there were no evening meals available on a Monday.

The room itself was fairly big, and the bed comfortable* The shower was excellent and welcomed after a few days on the road.

Compared to others we have stayed at on our trip, we felt this was not value for money. We paid over £170 for a night, whilst other similar rooms on the trip were £120-130. The room was cold when we arrived and became very humid over night so there was a musty smell. I could see where the window reveals had been damp. Bedding had stains on the base sheet, towels and pillows from previous guests. We were ground floor, just off the lobby. There was light below the apartment entrance door all night and the lobby door was blowing in the wind. The breakfast was a basic continental due to staff shortages.
