About this house rental

Situated in Sedgwick, this lovely house for $310 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. New listing! Eboleth House, located in Sargentville, is named after the original family that lived there during the turn of the century. The current owners' family purchased the property in 1932 and have lovingly restored and updated it. Eboleth has 4 bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms and sits in a field overlooking Eggemoggin Reach and the Sedgwick/Deer Isle bridge. Relax on the wrap-around porch enjoying the view of the bridge and meadow that was once an apple orchard. A short walk through the field leads to new stairs leading down to the private beach overlooking the Deer Isle Bridge and the beautiful sailing lanes of Eggemoggin Reach. The main floor includes the living area with comfortable seating and the dining area that seats 8. The kitchen is spacious and has the original handmade table and chairs. There is also a half bath that includes a new stackable washer/dryer. Like many of the old farm houses in the area there is a back set of stairs as well as the main stairs leading to the second floor. The main spiral stairs are made of very sturdy, unique tree branches and built by the owners' father, a master craftsman. They lead to 4 cozy bedrooms, each with a full bed and comfortable mattress. There are 4 additional cots available. While the fireplace is no longer used the rooms are individually heated in case of chilly mornings or evenings and an air conditioner is available. The spacious kitchen includes everything needed for cooking family meals. Enjoy Direct TV and Internet access, Eboleth House is in a central location for families to stay while visiting Deer Isle and area towns. About an hour from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, guests can enjoy a visit to the busy tourist areas of Mount Desert Island and then return to the peace and quiet of Sargentville for quiet and carefree evenings. Pets are welcomed with prior approval.

Plenty of space for a quick acadia hiking trip with my seven year old son and our dog. Beach access, fire pit and everything else on the property were great!

This property is perfect! We are a family of seven, two grandparents, two parents and three teenage girls. The size of the house and bedrooms were just right for us. Being able to walk to the beach whenever the girls desired was ideal. We took small trips to explore the islands and bought fresh lobster from the fishermen in Stonington. One wish for the property is a gas grill for BBQ but otherwise, it’s perfect! We would love to stay here again!

The property was a great find, very warm & open for a family. The screened in porch alone was worth the rental. The private beach is small but is a very good place to go fishing (my son loved it). Assuming the water is well-based, so it does have an odor, but it that should be expected. (Didn't bother us at all). We used it as a base camp to get to Acadia, and it was all we hoped for. I would highly recommend and would stay here again.

It was clear this property had recently had some renovations along with some new furniture and decorations, especially in the living room. It was nicely decorated and the furniture was comfortable. We would have loved a queen or king sized bed in at least one of the rooms. One glaring negative in our experience was the extremely strong sulfur smell of the water. I honestly could barely stomach taking a shower it was so strong. A couple of times I decided to boil filtered water and use that to bathe in. The odor lessened a bit by the end of our week's stay. There's a substantial water filter under the sink in the kitchen which eliminates the smell for drinking and cooking water, but it's only connected to that sink. Anyway, I know this can happen in some areas depending on where they get their water from, but I would have appreciated someone mentioning it in their review. When I texted the property manager about it they said that wells in this area can have sulfur, and it's safe. Anyway, it definitely impacted our enjoyment of the house.

We have enjoyed this house two years in a row. It is spacious, clean, and well appointed. Best features? The screened in porch is wide and wonderful and has rocking chairs and rocking benches, so comfortable. I love the beach for swimming, the water is clean and clear and warmer than the open ocean. A bit of traffic noise didn’t bother us.

Beautiful house! Very private!
Beautiful house! Very private!
Fantastic screen porch, short walk to the water, large living spaces. Well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer. The washer and dryer is in the 2nd bathroom, I think in place of a 2nd shower, so we needed a shower schedule for 6 adults, but glad to have the washer! Close to our Maine family and friends - I would rent this again!
