Excellent location. This one really is “Far from the Madding Crowd” very quiet and peaceful and very dark at night, and you can see the stars, but actually not too far away from small towns and places to visit during the day.
Excellent breakfast included in the price, more than we could eat. We also had dinner here on three of our four nights stay, Caz is an excellent cook and provides a three course meal and drinks (extra charge, book in advance) as good as any you’ll find in the local restaurants.
À good sized bedroom and a good sized bathroom with good shower and plenty of hot water. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room just ask for some milk.
We were in the Violet room so I can’t speak for the others but with the exception of the shower the bathroom fittings were all far too high (installed we understand by a previous owner who must have been a giant) the washbasin and the toilet are way too high, I had to stand on tiptoe to shave (I’m 5’8”) and my partner could only just see the top of her head in the mirror, which could quite easily be turned from landscape to portrait which would solve that problem.
A small adjustment needed to the bedroom and wardrobe doors so that they open and close smoothly.
Not the best staircase for anyone with poor sight.
But then we are old and younger people may not even notice.

De kamer was prima, de badkamer ook.
De eigenaren heel vriendelijk.
Ik vond de sfeer van alles tegenvallen. Weinig kleur, planten, bloemen.
Het ontbijt: 1 croissantje, 1 pain du chocolat en vier ( niet verse) stukjes stokbrood. Voor twee personen…
Beleg: een hoopje geraspte kaas, wat avocadopartjes en een paar plakken ham.
En elke ochtend (3) wat gesneden kiwi, meloen en appel. Niks afwisselend.
Voor mij is dat geen top ontbijt!
