St Clair is a bustling beachside suburb of Dunedin with a selection of beautiful cafes and restaurants located along the St Clair Esplanade. The Eagle's Nest is within walking distance of the beachfront, just a 10-minute drive from the Octagon (Dunedin city centre), 10 minutes from Forsyth Barr Stadium, and in close proximity to St Clair Golf Course and Chisolm Links Golf Course near St Kilda Beach. The famous wildlife attractions of the Otago Peninsula are close by with yellow-eyed penguins, albatross, sea lions, seals and bountiful birdlife within easy reach. The Eagle's Nest is a warm and comfortable open-plan beach house that offers space for entertaining and relaxing. Heated by a wood burner and heat pump, you'll always be toasty as you take in the sweeping vista from the lounge, master bedroom and sunroom. Comfortable bed, hot shower, fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, fabulous views and very clean property - everything we needed. It was a steep climb up to the front door with our cases but we only had to do that once! Great location with plenty of street parking. Ideal for us.

Love, love, loved the Eagle’s Nest. From the incredible views to the warm and inviting rooms to the exceptionally well appointed kitchen, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I particularly liked the layout of the house capturing the warm sunshine and making the most of the ocean views. And the surfing/beach coffee table books were stunning. I assume the framed photo in the main bedroom and the photography books are by one of the owners of the Bach. If so, thank you for sharing them with us.

Great location for us, but we were surprised it was on a hill - lots of steps up to front door! View was worth it. 10 min to town, grocery store, etc. Property had everything we needed. Bedrooms not heated, but we loved having a heated mattress pad instead! Hair dryer available, but poor quality (didn't dry very fast). Would stay here again!

A nice stay, clean and comfy. We had four adults aged 60’s to 70’s and found the car parking space and the uphill walk with our luggage a bit daunting. A nice view but compared to other accomodation we have stayed In, at a cheaper cost it does not qualify for 5 stars. So its 4 stars from us.

Each morning the kids loved to watch the sea and to count the surfers. Quiet location up the hill, as a familly we loved our stay. It was easy, with the car, to get everywhere we wanted in and around Dunedin.

We felt at home immediately. Very clean, comfortable and cosy. Compact but roomy. Awesome sea views from lounge and master bedroom.. easy access to Otago Peninsular and Dunedin centre. A bit steep for us to attempt the walk to the beach (in our 70's) and unloading the car was exhausting after a six hour drive, up the steep drive, but by the end of the week we had got used to it and were fitter!

This beautifully positioned house has amazing views over St Clair Beach. It has everything you need inside, very well setup kitchen and dining area. It also has a lovely, sun-soaked (in summer) outdoor area at the rear. Full laundry facilities were great! The bedrooms are all well setup, with comfortable beds and are well presented. We would have loved a deck to sit on facing out over St Clair Beach but with the beach and bars within a 15minute walk, it doesn't take long to walk down. We both loved the space and wished we could have stayed longer!

The Eagle’s Nest is a lovely home with a wonderful view. It is well stocked and provides a great place to unwind after a busy day seeing the sites in the nearby area.
The kitchen is well furnished and the beds were quite comfortable. Having the laundry area was a great plus for us. We were delighted with our stay and loved waking up to the ocean views and going to sleep with the same.
A few things of note, the laundry room is in a little alcove out the back door. However, you do not really have to go outside as it is covered and very accessible. Another thing to note is that the driveway and parking are a bit of a challenge if you are driving a full size vehicle. As the listing clearly states there is on street parking that is right in front of the house and always available. We had a Mitsubishi Outlander—which is a bit large and we parked it in the driveway just fine.
St. Claire Beach is a short 5 minute drive and has lovely restaurants. We enjoyed our time there and were treated to a delightful visit with a Sea Lion. He was quite interested in showing off for everyone and of course we all let him know his performance was greatly enjoyed.
If you are going to Dunedin I would highly suggest the Eagle’s Nest. Rachel was wonderful to work with and very patient as we worked through changing plans due to Covid.

The house is big enough for a family. Great play area in the kids room with games provided. Everything provided except milk. Beds were comfy. A few steps and bit of a steep path way to house. Would highly recommend . Great stay, thank you.
