Nestled in Treasure Beach, this attractive villa for $300 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Villa Optima is a very spacious 3 luxury Bedroom 3 Bathroom that can accommodate 8 people. It is located in the quiet area of Old Wharf at zero minutes from the beach. It has a fully equipped kitchen, very large veranda and a beautiful garden perfect for relaxing.Villa Optima offers A/C in bedrooms, Fans, Hot Water, Free Netflix,FiberOptic FAST WiFi, I-pod Media Dock, , , Standby Generator. Maid available. If you like, there is a cook service for maximum 2 meals per day for US$25 per day. housekeeping is included once a week,, if more service is needed, the fee is JA$ 3,500 per day. So, when close to arrival date,please inform us if you would like a meal ready upon check-in. Wadia will cook for you and you will provide groceries and drinks. Also, we can go shopping one time in advance for you if you will send us a list at least 24h before arrival with groceries and drinks which you will reimburse upon arrival. The property was beautiful and secluded towards the end of a lane.
We used Waita for 2 meals a day and drivers to go to the rum factory and YS Falls.
Anything we needed was handled promptly.
Bring bug spray & after bite. Those Jamaican sand flies & mosquitos know when to pounce.
The food was better than in the restaurants we found and the drivers made life more comfortable for us.
Enjoyed our stay very much. Our only complaint is that we wished the common area had AC as the time we were there it wasnt very breezy thus it got hot at night.
The hosts, grounds keeper, house helper & the drivers were all incredible.

We stayed at this property from June 20th, 2023 through July 03, 2023. I am originally from Jamaica and wanted to have an experience where I was rubbing elbows with the locals. Treasure Beach did not disappoint! I felt like I was truly home. We went to the beach everyday, did a sunrise walk and a sunset walk, the sunset is absolutely breathtaking. Our 8 year old son built sand castles, climbed trees, hunted sea shells, watched the crabs on the beach and swam in the ocean.
Every morning we had breakfast on the verandah as a family. My husband downloaded an app on his phone so we could learn more about the local birds that would be singing so sweetly while we were enjoying our breakfast. I really felt like a kid again as I was taking notice of little things like the different kinds of lizards, trees and flowers. We were mesmerized by a hummingbird fighting off a lizard. We drank lots and lots of coconut water! People were neighbourly, friendly and willing to help you find what you need.
Our host Paolo was the best! He went grocery shopping for us ahead of time so we would be stocked up on our arrival, he took us on a mini tour of the town and showed us where all the hot spots were, he was always just a message away and I appreciated that.
Wadia was a great cook! She knew how to cater to everyone's palate. The meals were never too spicy or too bland, it was just right. She made great dinners for us. Ask her to make you some of her favourites!

We had an incredible time at Villa Optima and Treasure Beach. The whole area is amazing... so gorgeous, down to earth, safe, welcoming, the list goes on. We can't wait to come back.
The house was perfect for our group of 2 parents, 3 kids (5/5/8) and one grandpa. We spent hours and days in the pool. The beach is right across the road and perfect for swimming with kids. Wadia's food was delicious (as was every other meal we had in the area - definitely go to Jake's and Lashing's Beach Club, just a bit up the beach!)
Communication and check-in was easy, the house was clean and actually even nicer than it looks in the pictures, and the beds were comfortable.
Overall a fabulous stay!

Can’t fault the location. Just minutes from a beautiful bay in the Treasure Beach area plus the convenience of a lovely little pool. Staff greeted us and were super friendly. Bedrooms were comfortable but the kitchen facilities were a little dated. The biggest drawback was the lack of any comfortable seating anywhere. There was a nice outdoor terrace, but no comfortable seats and after dark, it was spoiled by a very intrusive security light going on every time anybody moved.

Wow !! if I could give Villa Optima 10 stars I would. Our stay at Villa Optima was truly amazing !! Paolo was an awesome host who took care of us and made us feel completely at home, from having a fire on the beach on my birthday to recommending our excellent driver Puyo, Paolo really made our stay phenomenal. Wadia cooked for us while we were there and her meals were some of the best we have had in years. Treasure beach and Villa Optima are truly a slice of paradise and true hidden gems, we will definitely be returning in the future. If your looking for a relaxing quiet vacation with amazing food and an amazing host then staying with Paolo at Villa Optima is the perfect place to go. Paolo and Tia were amazing hosts, Wadia is a marvelous cook and a joy to be around. The location is perfect for solitude and within walking distance to restaurants and shops. The beach is lovely, and we had it to ourselves during the week. The whole family enjoyed the pool, and the beds were very comfortable. The vacation was just about perfect, and the beach bonfire sendoff was a lovely surprise that we will never forget. Thank you, Paolo and Tia

From booking to departure, this villa experience has been splendid and brilliant value for money. The villa has character and the location is exceptional - we pretty much had our own ‘private’ beach right outside the front door! Wadia cooked us splendid meals and the hosts are right on hand if you need anything. We wanted a relaxing chilled holiday, in a beautiful location that also has some famous Caribbean soul and we got it. Oh and did we mention the beach? Just wow!

Villa Optima with my boy
The property itself was surreal, with the beach across the street you wake up to the sound of waves crashing every morning. We spent a LOT of time in the pool, which is perfect size and depth for relaxing or playtime with the kids. It is a bit of a walk into town to get supplies, but I enjoyed the walk when the nice people there would let me. (They stopped multiple times and insisted I let them give me a ride) but if you have a rental car this is no issue.
The AC/WIFI/etc worked perfectly the whole stay, and the hosts and supporting staff were beyond friendly and there if I needed them. It was a charming, quiet, wonderful experience all the way around. I will probably stay here again WHEN I return to Treasure Beach.

Excellent beach location / access
Nice house, great location! Owner and cook were super friendly and helpful. The house has a great pool and wonderful outside sitting area. The house is off the main road and on a dead end, so you can enjoy the sounds of the ocean. You are not ocean front, but you literally walk 20 feet to cross the dirt road and have beach access.
The house is a bit dated and the bathrooms could be improved, but they’re not show stoppers.
This place affords good value for the price.

Spectacular Location
This villa was as advertised. If you are looking to relax in nature and enjoy the most private, pristine beach ever, this is the place. On calmer days, we were able to snorkel right outside the front door. It's a bit of a trek to get to restaurants and shopping, but it's worth it. The villa was well appointed and the meals were fantastic. The pool was an added bonus that we really enjoyed. Everyone had a fantastic time.

Very welcoming.
Property was as advertised. Right on the beach. Paulo lives right next door and was available for any questions. The property is advertised as having a washer but the housekeeper was hesitant to let us use it, and instead did our laundry for us. Not our intent so if you want laundry done might want to inquire. It was well equipped with everything we needed. We will go back with family again. All the staff very kind and helpful.

Great spot in Treasure Beach
We loved our stay at Villa Optima. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch taking in the ocean view. The kids spent many hours in the pool. Shanique made us some amazing meals. All in all a fantastic stay!

Quiet, Safe, Relaxing with untouched beaches and no crowds
We had the most wonderful time during our stay. The south coast is definitely the part of the island that has the least amount of tourists. We met so many locals and they were all so friendly to us. The house is exactly as it is pictured. A beautiful huge wrap around porch where you have your meals prepared and served to you. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom and air conditioning unit, along with a mosquito net (which we never felt we needed). The beds were comfortable with good sheets and good pillows. The food was outstanding - we chose some Jamaican dishes and were very pleased with how delightful the food was. Our beds were made and rooms were swept each day. We spent most of our time at the beach just across the small road, literally steps away. There was hardly anyone else on the beach, it truly felt like we had it all to ourselves. At night after dinner we chose to enjoy the pool and take a dip. Overall very lovely and we expect to return for many more visits in the future. Very kid friendly, our 3 year old loved it.

Treasure Beach is away from all of the tourists, yet close enough to some great activities if you want to get out. The beach is literally yards away and there is a decent little sheltered cove a little ways down with no coral that you can get in the waves and enjoy the surf. We saw only a handful of people in our whole week there. The house has a great veranda where we enjoyed all of our meals and sat for hours playing board games and lounging. The yard is gorgeous and the pool was wonderful to have all to ourselves. The bedrooms have AC, which is a definite plus and there is mosquito netting over the beds. It was also great that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The best part about it was the staff that helped us enjoy our stay. Shanique was sweet and cooked us wonderful meals each day. It was such a treat not having to worry about dinner, have it ready when we choose, have it served to us in the comfort and privacy of our own place, and not have to get ready to go out to a restaurant, while still having restaurant quality food. Nothing too fancy, just good, local cuisine. And then to have someone clear your plates, clean up the kitchen and then leave was amazing! That's a true vacation for a mom!!Our driver, Preston, really made our stay the best. He was patient, kind and so very helpful. He was available to take us where we wanted, when we wanted and helped us in so many ways. WE LOVE PRESTON!!It was a birthday for one of us while we there and I was able to arrange to have a cake with Shanique and the owner Paolo had a bonfire for us on the beach that night. There is a lack of hanging space for clothes, only one wardrobe in the hall and no hooks anywhere. The lightning in the living area and kitchen is poor and not helped by a very ugly yellow paint job. The villa would be much improved if it was all painted white. The terrace is fantastic though, lots of seating and table space and great for big party meals.

Our stay here was very much needed. I have traveled to Treasure Beach for 18 years our first to this property. Was all we wanted for our stay. Great location. Quiet , great walk to reaturaunts..

Myself and family just had one of the most incredible vacation experience.
Experience a piece of authentic, rustic, old world Jamaica.
The house is in a great location. Not far from Jakes.
Right across from the beach and beautiful cove so the view can be enjoyed also of the house from the beach.
House is quaint ,and practical.The garden and verandah gives you the ideal indoor out door living.
Pool is set back from the house great if young children are vacationing .
The locals are friendly and warm beautiful people.
PS. If you are only comfortable in a resort setting this may not be ideal.
Also it is a approximately 2.5hrs drive from Montego bay. Seriously consider having a native driver so you can sit back and relax.
The owners are very easy to work with. Also they are next door neighbors.
Hence that also factors into the safety aspect of renting.

Peaceful retreat with pampering
Our family group of 4 adults and 2 children had a lovely, relaxing week between Christmas and New Year's at Villa Optima. The house was very comfortable, and we loved the shady veranda and pool. The beach is beautiful and convenient (but use caution when the wind and waves are up). Best part: delicious meals cooked and served with humor and grace by Monica and Trudy, who were helpful in so many ways. We truly felt pampered and indulged.

A real gem in Treasure Beach - Beachfront living at it's best!
We just returned from the most wonderful vacation at Villa Optima. From the moment we arrived we knew we had made a fantastic choice. The villa is well laid out, nicely appointed with a beautiful porch with dining area where we ate all the delicious breakfasts and dinners prepared by Monica. She thoroughly impressed my son with her creative vegan meals. Monica was also very helpful in arranging excursions and even a bonfire on the beach (not to be missed). It is a quiet area, safe and we swam every night in the ocean. Be sure to go to YS Falls, Bamboo Ave., Appleton Rum Factory tour, Black River to see the crocodiles and if you like snorkelling Sunny Island is very good and the Pelican Bar is a must see (with dolphin spotting on the way). We travelled with our son (22), daughter (26) and her fiancee and we all agreed it was the best vacation ever! It is a different experience altogether from the usual all inclusive resorts we have been to many times before. The region is a farming and fishing community and the locals and other tourists were friendly and helpful. You can walk to Jack Spratts if you want to go out for dinner, their pizza is very good. We are so very glad we got to see the real Jamaica! Thank you to owners Paolo and Tia for providing such a wonderful place. We will be back!!!

A well designed home in Paradise
This is a very well designed home, well ventilated, cozy, comfortable indoor spaces as well as a huge porch for playing dominoes and sipping an ice cold Red Stripe. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedrooms are all nicely sized with their own bathrooms and really comfy new beds. It's everything it is advertised as and much more.
The staff, Monica and Trudy, and owners Paolo and Tia, is what keeps us coming back to Treasure Beach. Their warmth and friendliness is what you will find everywhere you go. Their delicious meals are prepared twice a day and customized to your taste. Lobster, curried shrimp, jerk chicken and ackee for breakfast. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! Monica and Trudy were even thoughtful enough to serve us a romantic candlelight dinner the night before our friends arrived. Thanks girls!
This home is very affordable, especially if you bring some friends. Paolo lives next door and can answer any questions you might have about the area. He greeted us with a nice gift of homemade soap and even brought over a freshly baked loaf of bread. Some days we were even treated to fresh coconuts.
We couldn't recommend Villa Optima enough and we will be back, it sits in front of the best swimming cove in the area and close to everything, which (this is why we like Treasure Beach) is not touristy. If you are looking for a truly laid back vacation, this is it. It's easier than you think, they'll pick you up at the airport and spoil you for as many days as you can get away, take a couple extra days, you won't be sorry. Soon Back

Welcoming Villa Optima in Secluded Treasure Beach
Two couples shared this spacious three bedroom Villa with a wrap around porch that faces secluded wharf bay across the street. We've been to Treasure Beach several times. There's a large living area that's connected to a well appointed kitchen. And best of all, Monica and Trudy are great cooks and even better hosts. They pampered us with great meals for breakfast and dinner... and made us feel part of the Treasure Beach family. The owner Paolo lives in the house next door and was very attentive without being in our way. Paolo even shared fresh coconuts with us several times. We would highly recommend Villa Optima if you're looking for a laid back, relaxing trip to a non-touristy area of Jamaica. Paolo partners with Rebecca at Treasure Tours for transportation to and from the Montego Bay airport. It's about a 2-1/2 hour trip across the mountains but well worth the drive with Kevin. HIghlights are daily "walkabouts" to Eggy's on the beach, Smurf's for breakfast if you want to give the girls a break, Jack Spratt's for conch soup, Junior's for Jerk or pea soup, Charmaine's for cold Red Stripe, Charlie for hand made local crafts. Captain Dennis for boat tours, Miss Dawn's for great hand roasted coffee. The list of wonderful new and old friends goes on. Explore and find your own new adventures.

Very nice stay
We were 6 adults and kids and stayed 2 nights. The house is very spatial, with nice terraces, lots of space. Beach is just across the road. It is very quiet, no cars noise. Perfect for big families or groups of friends. But lots of mosquitos, come prepared!

Treasure Beach-the quiet side of paradise
The owner Paola was very accommodating, even going so far to bake delicious bites for our family several times during our stay. The house was perfect for our use with 3 full bedrooms, with air-conditioning and private bathrooms, all across from the beach. Many private beaches were within easy walking distance for those seeking variety. There was none of the pressured sales solicitations encountered at the usual tourist destinations. I would recommend this location to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of Negril, Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and experience real Jamaica.

Perfect location for a week end at the sea
It is the 2nd time we are going to Villa Optima and we love it.
The location is incredible, you only have to cross the road and you are at the cove, as we have small children this is precious to us as we only take towels / sand toys and whenever they are tired / hungry / need to be changed, we just go back to the house in a minute.
The house is very convenient, two double bedrooms and one room with two large single beds, a living room / kitchen with couches, wifi. There is a bathtub in one of the bathroom (3 bathrooms in total), and both beach and house towels are provided in everyone of them, they are large and of nice quality. Fridge is spacious, with separate freezer, oven works great (gas oven with burners). Monica the cook and helper is very good, helpful, understands your needs and adapts very well. She baby sitted our kids twice so that we could go and have dinner at Jakes and it went really well. Paolo and Tia Maria the owners are very helpful, very welcoming, they will surprise you with homemade bread which is a delight. They can shop your shopping list ahead so that the fridge / pantry is full when you come in (I prefer to do my own shopping to be sure to get everything I want, e.g. if we want to have strawberries, not always easy to find everywhere / anywhen, and for baby food I like to bring my food processor to be on the safe side but the house works great for families in my opinion).
There is a very nice garden with a trampoline, some swings, a pond with turtles, koi fishes, and some frogs sometimes (my big boy was over the moon to observe a real frog for the first time).
There is also a patio area around the house to get lunch or dinner very agreeable because it gets air and it's shady, as the wheather can be really hot in treasure beach.
Do take a lot of mosquito repellent / coils / nets as there are mosquitoes, but once you have everything to fight back it's quite manageable. There is AC in every room, not in the living room which can get a bit hot but you'd rather be at the beach / in the patio / garden and at night it's cooler. Stargazing on the trampoline is amazing, the sky is very clear.
We love the place and got many fond memories there as a family (went to Black River Crocodile Safari tour, Floyds Pelican bar on Parottee, Callaloo shop close to Jakes where you find the cutest little girls' dresses ever, for attractions nearby).

Great place to stay in Treasure Beach
First off let me say that driving to treasure beach in Jamaica is a bit of adventure itself. Jamaicans are not big on road signs/ fixing pot holes which led to both a flat tire and couple accidental side trips on the way to the villa. It's nice to have a car in Treasure Beach, but be aware that it will take about 3 hours to drive there from Montego Bay and it isn't the easiest place to find until you get to know the area.
Paolo for whatever reason refuses to accept payment in any form other than wire or cash, which made me very wary of dealing with him. However, he is legit and he is super nice. He helped us get our flat fixed and went out of his to make sure we had a great stay. I trust Paolo 100% now and wouldn't hesitate to wire him money, even though some people might not want to do that.
The house itself is great. 3 Bedrooms, each with it's own bath and one of the rooms has two beds. AC in the bedrooms to stay cool at night. Kitchen is well equipped, and the living room is comfortable. The interior roof of the house is just unfinished wood which is kinda funky-cool, but also looks a little shabby. Monica was the housekeeper/chef for us and did an amazing job, her cooking was some of the best I had in Jamaica. The house has a wonderful porch for lounging and is right across the road from a great beach. Locals come to this beach because it is somewhat protected from the waves by a reef and is very calm to swim in. You can also walk around and explore other beaches in the area, but we spent most of our time at the beach right across from the house because it was that nice (though it isn't a large beach- it's surrounded by some rocky areas on both sides).
Paolo also graciously offered to pick up groceries for us in the big city before we got there to get things that hard to find locally and save some money. There is a smaller grocer in TB that has most anything you could need though. There is no ATM in TB.
We discovered about 3 cockroaches in the house while we stayed. Not a big deal to me, but that might be a big turnoff for some. Otherwise the house appeared quite clean and well kept. One night a cat (we think) somehow opened a partially closed screen and grazed on some of our bread. Perhaps he let in some cockroaches too. The power went off temporarily after a storm, but Paolo has a generator he fired up for us and the power company had it fixed in a few hours.
Overall I think this house was great value, and I would definitely stay there again.
