Our guest apartment is cozy (600 square feet) and you should find it comfortable, with everything you need for a short or a longer stay. * Living room - - French doors open to a private deck with table and chairs - Couch converts to a very comfortable additional Queen-sized bed - Electric fireplace with remote - Coffee table easily transforms into a dining room table for 4-6 people or can be used as a desk * Bathroom - - Heated floors - Washer and dryer - Tankless water heater - Lots of fluffy towels and all the toiletries * Bedroom - - Memory foam Queen-sized bed - Lots of hypoallergenic pillows - Closet and bedside tables with drawers - Windows with screens * Kitchen - - Fully equipped with everything you need for a short or a longer stay - Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, oil and vinegar, spices and first day continental breakfast provided *All-season comfort - There are programmable thermostats in the living room and the bedroom - Since our guest apartment is on the ground floor of a stucco house, it stays cool and doesn’t need air-conditioning – even on the hottest days it is pleasantly cool inside * You will be able to self-check-in with your own personal code * Both living room and bedroom have High Definition Smart TVs with ROKU, Netflix and Disney+ * High speed WiFi You will have access to the completely private first story of our home and the entire large and private deck is yours to enjoy a morning coffee, glass of wine or an outside meal. We live upstairs and work from home, so we are available if needed to answer questions, or to give you advice on places to eat and visit. Text messaging is best for a quick response! Our neighborhood is essentially a single-family-home hilly cul-de-sac, so it’s very private and safe. It is great for walking, with good lighting and sidewalks, beautiful landscaped yards and views of lake and mountains along the way. You will see all different styles of houses, from early 1920’s to Modern, from middle class family homes to waterfront mansions. There are a lot of excellent dining options in Northeast Seattle and University Village, and there are several parks and outdoor nature areas nearby. We are just a short walk to the Laurelhurst Park, which has a round 1.2 mile loop trail walk, tennis courts, playground, sports fields, beautiful mature trees and Community Center; Union Bay Nature Area which has several trails with views of Lake Washington and great bird and possibly animal viewing; and the Yesler Swamp with its recently constructed boardwalk to explore a marshy area where birds and beavers live. There is plenty of free, unmetered street parking, so having your own car is a good option. In addition, there are several buses nearby. However, please note that the neighborhood is quite hilly and walking to and from the bus stops tends to be up and down hills. We are about 0.5 miles from Children’s Hospital and it’s an easy flat 10 minute walk. Walking or Uber or Lyft might be good options to the UW Husky Stadium and the Light Rail station which can take you further - to Downtown, International District or the airport. There are two busses just two blocks away which you can take to the U District and it's Light Rail station in less than 5 minutes. Uber Jump and Lime Bikes with sun-powered electric assists are parked throughout the neighborhood. You can drive to Downtown Seattle in about 20 minutes, depending on the traffic (unless it’s rush hour).

This property is exactly as described, but there are a couple of standouts features worth mentioning. The house is immaculately clean, well appointed and extremely comfortable. But the best thing was the communication with the host and the clear effort to insure a positive experience. I'm quite confident we will be back in the future.

I flew in for 3 nights to visit with my son who lives in Seattle. The apartment was so immaculate and had absolutely everything I needed. The host had special touches throughout the place so I felt very welcomed such as warm lighting, peaceful music playing and even a small Christmas tree lit up. I immediately felt so comfortable. The host reached out during my stay to see if I needed anything. The whole experience was very positive. I would highly recommend this apartment!

We stayed here while my son had a very long surgery. It was relaxing and very clean. Being 5 minutes from the hospital allowed us to go somewhere private to eat and rest while still being able to get back quickly for surgical check ins. The host was easy to communicate and checked in on us regularly. Felt like staying with caring but unobtrusive family. 😊 Thank you!!!!
