About this house rental
Nestled in Destin, this lovely house for $688 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Less Than One Block from the Beach!!! This beautifully designed custom cottage home is located in Crystal beach has more upgrades than you can imagine. You will enjoy all the comforts of home as well as the beach less than a block from your front door and in the opposite direction lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance as well! Nothing was spared in designing this home. Accented with Bamboo Flooring and Wainscoting throughout the home, Bay Windows, Recessed Lighting, Granite Counter Tops, Stainless Steel Appliances, a Dual Fuel Stove/Oven, Built in Desk, Gas Fireplace as well as a custom-built Murphy Bed in the first-floor bedroom. HUGE Covered Porches in the Front and Back of the Home, In Ground Pool, and Stacking Glass Doors that to the Covered Back Porch overlooking the Pool. The pool is heat able for cooler months for a fee! There is parking for 4 vehicles and a large fenced in back yard to enjoy. Our community: Crystal Beach promotes cottages, rather than high rises, to capture the Old Florida Community feeling. We suggest walking to the corner Bistro (Camille's), sit on the veranda, read the paper and enjoy a relaxing breakfast and cup of coffee while watching the morning joggers pass by. While at the beach, try one of their smoothies or return in the evening for some of the finest Sushi or seafood in Destin. There are also many beautiful golf courses within 5 miles of your vacation home. You will also enjoy Dolphin watching, jogging and just sitting at the beach to soak in the beauty of the emerald waters as well as the spectacular sunsets. If you enjoy shopping, then you will be able to shop till you drop! Destin Commons is only 2 minutes away. or you can find several treasures at the Silver Sands outlet mall. It is billed as the world's largest Designer Outlet! And please take time to explore Hwy 30A with all of their quaint shops as well as the shops of San Destin What to do besides enjoy our wonderful beach...: Should you wish to explore what the local area has to offer; you'll find an abundance of choices. Sidewalks line scenic 98 for walking, running or bike riding. We are a short 2–5-mile drive to the Silver Sands mall to the West, or luxury shopping at Destin Commons to the East. The property was exactly as described. A great location and the owner/property manager was very responsive and helpful.

The house fit our multi-generational family well, with enough comfy beds and clean bathrooms. The walk to the beach was an easy stroll but also had a small parking lot at the beach where you could load/unload all the beach chairs,toys,etc. the beach area was tight with condos on each side and vendor-owned chairs &umbrellas. The house is very nice but could use some minor repairs and updates (new area rugs, an ice maker, more pool furniture). All in all, had a great family time at a lovely house. Kathleen was super to work with and answered every question promptly.

House was just as described. Perfect location for the beach. Kathy responded to questions very quickly and was very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again for our Destin vacation.

The house was exactly as advertised! We had plenty of room for 9 people. We had 4 adults and 5 kids, aged 10-17. The two king rooms were perfect for the two sets of parents and the room with 3 twin beds was perfect for the 3 boys we had with us! Our two teenaged girls slept on the Murphy bed in the front room.
The pool is not huge, but big enough for us to have fun. There were plenty of pool toys ( we left a few more!)
I give this house a 10/10 and would highly recommend.

Every rug in the house was dirty (thankfully not many). The ice machine did not work and the owners did not provide any. Bed in 2nd floor front room had lumpy bed with hump in middle, blinds did not work. Blinds also didn’t work on front room downstairs. The DR had a broken chair, the yard is dead grass, impossible to walk on without getting hay & dirt on your feet. Pool in need of refinishing, bottom surface and walls had algae (even after pool guy came to ‘clean’ poo)l.mold in shower upstairs, broken pocket door in other bath upstairs… disappointing standards an understatement.

We had a great time here! Nice little walk to the beach. We enjoyed the house plenty of room for the 6 of us very clean. Pool was great! Specially when we couldn’t get in the ocean due to rip currents. Was nice sitting on the porch or back patio with a drink and just relax!

Great location but the Jack and Jill bathroom doors are difficult to close. In the first 24 hours the maintenance guy had to come to fix 2 of the bathroom shower doors. The pool could also be cleaner. The manager was quick to respond to our problems. Also the throw rugs have a lot of spots and should be cleaned or replaced

Kathy was a very responsive host! The property was an easy walk to the beach and the pool was perfect for our kids ages 3-11. The location was great with several restaurants within distance. The pool was heated which was great for a March trip. We had a fantastic stay. Kathy responded immediately when we found the heat not quite working. The pool company was there within minutes of my text!! Lots of beach toys and a wagon to carry them but no beach chairs or towels so plan on bringing your own. Host welcome email did make sure to mention that the house was minimally stocked with essentials (shampoo, soap, spices etc) so we made sure to pick those up when we arrived.

Our stay in Destin was wonderful. We loved the house and our granddaughter loved the short beach wagon ride to the beautiful white sand beach. The house was in a great location for a short walk to the beach or even shopping.
Any questions we may have had were quickly answered.
Would definitely do it again and have already recommended to friends.

The beach house was perfect for our family! The walk to the beach was only 5 minutes and we didn't have any issues with our 2 or 4 year old granddaughters walking. It's a straight shot. The pool was a big hit with the kiddos. The only downside was that there was quite a large hump from a tree root or something under the house and if was z tripping hazard. Also, the rug could have used a good cleaning. The shower doors in the guest bathroom upstairs were a little wonky as well. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely stay here again!!!

Florida Vacation in Paradise
This beach house was everything it said it would be and more. We were a group of 6 adults and 4 children, from all age ranges and each of us got what we wanted. Ample room to move around, beach within 5 minute walk, backyard pool to relax around, large kitchen, responsive owners and much much more. We would definitely recommend to friends and looking forward to visiting again. Thank you Mike and Kathy for your hospitality.

Great house and location!
This is the third time we’ve stayed at this house in Destin. It has everything our family needs for vacation! And you can’t beat the location- half a block to the beach!! Easy to walk to and even go back and forth if needed. Also close to many good restaurants and shops. Definitely recommend staying here!!

The house was great. There was plenty of room and large porches on the front and back that would be ideal on cooler evenings. The pool was perfect to hang out in when we had enough of the beach. The property manager was a very good communicator. We had a great time. We would stay again.

Photos on VRBO need updating for sure to begin with. Upon arrival, the property was a mess with sand on the floor, dirty water in the sink and plugged up with a plastic bag clogging the drain. The cleaning crew did a quick once over cleaning on it. The baseboards had dirt and dust all over them. The inside of the microwave was also extremely dirty. The area rug in the living room had stains all over it in which we had to buy a quilt for our kids to sit on when playing on the floor. The hardwood floor has a huge dirt stain on it by sliding glass door. When we informed the cleaning people they said it didn’t come out, although we could easily remove with a tough scrub. The sliding glass window is very difficult to open and it seems like the rail wasn’t cleaned in months with dirt and grime spread throughout. It also has a make shift lock that you have to struggle to close. The backyard had grass that wasn’t cut and a big portion of it was weeds so you didn’t even feel comfortable having the kids play in the grass by the pool. The pool was nice but you can tell it hasn’t had a proper deep cleaning in a long time as the inside walls of the pool are extremely dirty. The pool was also dirty with leaves and bugs and we couldn’t properly clean it because the cleaning net was completely ripped. The chairs they provide you to sit outside by the pool and on the deck were unusable because of how dirty and rusty they were. The porch is super nice to sit on but we couldn’t sit out there because the cushions had a ton of stains on them as well. Also upon are arrival both garbage cans were overflowing. The shower glass door upstairs was broke off the hinge which we fixed on our own so you can easily see it was something easy to fix but nobody wanted to take the time to do it. The 3 year old traveling with us fell off the dining room chair. After inspecting it we noticed that the screws holding the legs on the chair were pretty much fully loose. We really didn’t need a lot but for $3k a week we really hoped we would have a clean house that we could feel comfortable living inside for a week. If it was my property I would have a full cleaning done and ensure a walkthrough of the property was done before anyone arrived. We really contemplated trying to get a refund right away and find a new property but we knew that would be almost impossible. It’s super close to the beach which is a huge plus but it’s not worth the $3k a week for the way the house is maintained

Family time together
This property was perfect for our family. We had toddlers and young adults traveling with us and the location was perfect for all. The covered back deck was great to get out of the sun and still be able to enjoy the outdoors. The pool kept the little ones entertained in the evenings after coming off the beach. Overall great week and would definitely stay here again.
