About this house rental

Situated in Indian Wells, this lovely house for $1,304 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. LQ Lic 111796 Permitted 4bdrm/3ba *************************************** A very unique and special property - this estate is one of a handful of original Spanish Haciendas built in La Quinta during the 1930's. Upon arrival, guests will be treated to a gated bricked courtyard, and charming plastered villa. Soothing sounds of rustling palm fronds and leaves emanate from towering, majestic palms and bountiful citrus trees, which lushly shade and perfume the grounds, providing immediate respite against the hot desert sun. The estate is walled and gated, making it a safe play haven for pets and children. The residence boasts a colorful legacy of guests and private events and even served as the host location for the La Quinta Arts Foundation Home Tour. Beautifully maintained and cared for - this property exudes charm and artisan flavor throughout. The property features a main house and a separate private casita. Within the main house, are two bedrooms with private baths. One bedroom is outfitted with a queen bed and two twin beds, allowing sleeping accommodations for 4, the other bedroom has a queen sized bed for two. The main house also has well appointed kitchen with breakfast bar and dining alcove, not to mention a full sized dining room should one desire a more formal eating arrangement. The casita has a private bedroom with a queen bed, and a main living area with a queen pull out sofa. The casita has it's own full bath and kitchen. The property allows multi-generational families or couples enjoying a vacation together, to have the rare luxury of preparing meals communally, or cooking privately, keeping harmony with individual preferences and schedules. Visitors will be equally as pleased with the beautiful pool, complete with Jacuzzi and swim up beach and colorful mosaic tabletop. The surrounding patio provides for many sunbathing options, and also gives those who prefer some shade, the ability to laze the day away in a comfortable hammock, hung amidst the mature orange trees that border the pool area. A grill master's dream awaits in a large outdoor palapa by the pool. The full outdoor kitchen boasts a gas grill, sink, bar counter with seating for six, as well as a huge covered dining area that will easily accommodate your group. Next to the stage is a large gas fire pit, made for roasting marshmallows under the starlight, or for delighting guests with warm ambient firelight while keeping any chill at bay. The lush lawn and tropical flower beds throughout the property lend a tropical oasis feeling in contrast to the surrounding bright, sunny desert.

This home is wonderful and oh so comfortable. The 1930’s villa has a sumptuous ambiance both inside and out. The furnishings and décor are so tasteful, comfortable, skillful, artistic, appropriate, and often, humorous. Everywhere you look is something to appreciate. The home is equipped in a generous way and so well maintained. The kitchen is loaded with everything anyone could want. The linens and bedding are sumptuous. Every room has a nice TV. Wi-Fi is perfect. The house, casita, and pool made for a perfect family stay with lots of space…. grandparents in the casita; two adults and two kids, in the main house. I cannot overstate how special this property is. It is so much more than a place to stay. It is an experience.

We came down for our daughter’s wedding, and the whole family stayed in your home. It was just perfect for all of us, and the casita worked out great for the new bride and groom. The property is lovely and the home is as beautiful as shown in the photos. Lots of space for everyone and really homey feeling.

We loved our stay here. This house is quirky, comfortable, and in a great location. It is on a large lot, so we had so much room for our dogs (by the way, thank you to the owner for accepting them!). The pool was perfect, as was the hot tub (heats up hot in only 30 minutes!). Just so you know, the house is old. It is not your modern, spiffy white, ultra clean property, but I mean that in a good way. It's an older home. But that's the charm of it. Pros and Cons: It's walking distance to Old Town LQ, lots of restaurants and coffee shops. Fritz Burns Park is just one block away. Very fun! My opinion is you definitely want to stay in La Quinta vs. Palm Springs/Indio/etc. The separate casita is adorable! The yard has orange/grapefruit trees (so fun to pluck some every morning for breakfast!). The kitchen is small and dark, so not a chef's dream. But we ate out a lot so we were fine. The TV room off the kitchen is small, with a tiny old sofa, but we made due. The bedrooms were very comfortable and very quiet! There were two small dogs in the property behind the house. Many days they yapped for hours. Then we would not hear them for 2-3 days. I am very sensitive to barking but was fine and learned to ignore it. The owner Todd was very communicative! Took care of our needs very quickly. There is a sunken living room upon entry so just be careful with small children or elderly. Loved the quirky artwork and decor! All in all, we loved our time here. Would stay again a heartbeat!!

We never left the house! Pool and grounds were perfect for our family (including our dog) and the house had all the amenities. The pool exceeded our expectations with a perfect sun shelf for our little one. Would definitely book again- thank you!!

Spotted this listing last year for a family trip, but booked elsewhere. This year I looked for this location specifically and it did NOT disappoint. Check in was simple. Thank goodness, air was already on (as it was a hot summer day) The pics don’t do the house justice. You walk in to that incredible conversation pit room with dining room to your left and bedrooms to your right. The house is decorated in a perfect, eclectic style which is engaging and adds an elevated feeling to your stay. Cozy and comfortable, but not precious or sterile. Kitchen is beyond amazing: unique and charming. You want to spend weeks serving breakfast, lingering over lunch and making drinks in that unique space. You’ll find great cookware and perfect glassware and dish ware. Beds are comfy and bedrooms well-appointed. The house has a lived-in feel that a historic property should have. There’s a feeling of many people having had a wonderful time right where you are. Host and former guests have left little surprises - toiletries, trash bags, pool toys. The out of doors is also the coolest… the pool is beautiful and special - it feels engineered? Not a box-standard design! It’s SHADED! The side yard is huge. The hammock is a DREAM (we were fighting over it). The trees, the flowers? All so well-tended. We played games, watched tv, swam - and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Todd was super helpful and responsive. Will book again (and again)

The owner was so responsive to my questions both before and during our stay. I highly recommend this property! Our group of four adults and one dog had a great time at the house. We used both the main house and the casita. The beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The large and shady side yard for the dog to play in was perfect.

We had a great time. A unique early California property. Loved cooking melas and celebrating in the dining room. The backyard pool, jacuzzi and bar areas were enjoyed by all. Thanks again for a great stay.
