Location and property was great. We saw live ants in kitchen and upstairs master bathroom.
TV service not great. No daily local or National timely news.
Master bedroom TV channel selection limited and very slow yo respond. Found very awkward to use.

Nestled in the heart of old Harbour, Rockport is this little gem. My husband and I stayed for five days to get away from the humdrum of our normal life. We were a walk away from everything we could need- including the beach, shopping, and some excellent restaurants. Peggy’s apartment is well appointed with phenomenal views. Makes you want to live at the shore permanently. We will be back !

This is a perfect property for two people. The view alone was worth the price. This is a very clean, well- equipped house. 10 feet from the water. We hope to go back.

We loved everything about our stay at the Waterfront apt. With views of the water on three sides and the most spectacular sunsets, we couldn't have asked for a better location. The apartment is cozy and tasteful, and is located near all the shops and many restaurants, for easy strolling and dining.

Perfect location!
What a perfect place to stay for our 25th anniversary! Peggy’s place was right in the cute town of Rockport. The view was beautiful, the cottage was adorable, and the location couldn’t have been better. I didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be back!

Great get away to Rockport
We had a great few days and were able to explore many walks right from the property and the beach was just a third of a mile away. The town was just getting going for the summer and more restaurants open by the weekend. This was a great introduction to Rockport and we had a fun sail on a schooner down in Gloucester as well

What a week we had! The apartment is beyond charming and cozy. The lively energy of Rockport was all around us. Church bells ringing waves splashing on the shore, birds chirping, ducks splashing in the bay outside our window , Motif #1 across the street. Everyone in town is so friendly. We went to two concerts at the Shalin Liu concert hall. Only used the car once to go to halibut point. We turned our phones off , unplugged and joined in with the locals. I could go on …it was incredible!

A cosy haven
Our early October visit exposed us to some harsh weather. This was a great bolt hole to come back to after braving the rain and wind. The accommodation is right in the middle of Rockport, above a cafe- great for that early morning coffee ☕️

Everything was lovely. Spotless, fantastic view. Coffee shop downstairs was very noisy starting around 6 am, but overall the place was such a delight, we can’t feel too fussed over it.

Treasure in Rockport
We enjoyed our stay being immersed in the ambiance and comfort of this waterfront home on Bearskin neck. Peggy was a very responsive and generous host. Overnight parking easily found 5 blocks away. Only issues to contend with was unavoidable noise from cafe and stairs for those with mobility issues. Hope to be back again!

Quintessential New England get away
Lovely get away in a quaint New England setting Close to a lot of interesting places to visit. Fresh steamed lobster right down the street. The views of the Harbor and ocean right outside your wall of windows make it extra special
Lots of spots to stay but this is more of a home away you will enjoy it

charming spot in the heart of historic Rockport
charming apartment in historic Rockport convenient to everything. Renters should be aware that air conditioning is minimal and parking more challenging than expected. Those issues aside, great spot to enjoy town and explore the area.

Wonderful stay at a very charming and quaint apartment and area
We absolutely loved our stay in Rockport. The apartment was just perfect! It has everything you need so packing was easy. The bed was comfortable! There is everything you need in the apartment as well as a lovely spot overlooking the bay. Right in the hub, we enjoyed watching the crowd and the activity from the porch. There was a two-man band (trumpet and guitar) playing directly in front of us. The bay was peaceful at night we could hear the waves as they gently hit the building. The ducks love this bay and perched themselves on the rowboat in the water. We biked throughout the town - it's a great way to get around and we felt our bikes were safe locked up in the back patio. We parked in one spot and did not want to lose it, so we used our bikes daily. We highly recommend this place!

Perfect location and lovingly decorated!
A great spot to stay in Rockport. Beautiful views and stunning sunsets from the sitting room or private deck. The old customs house is gorgeous with original woodwork and lovingly decorated with small touches throughout. Comfortable furniture, welcoming community and lots of amenities. It truly felt like a home! Beaches, shopping and restaurants are all within steps away. Great coffee and ice cream just below started and ended our days. A well equipped kitchen was a delight for home cooked meals. Peggy was very helpful and quickly responded to all of our inquiries. I took long sunrise walks on trails nearby while my husband enjoyed al fresco breakfasts and sipped coffee while people-watching from the porch. A gaggle of ducks just outside on the harbor entertained us all week long. Easy access to drop in kayaks.
The only caveat is that there is some noise from the coffee shop opening/closing below. We’re early risers so it wasn’t an issue.
Enjoyed a Sunday night big band performance a short walk away and a free jazz concert at the stunning Shalin Lui Performance Center.
Very relaxing and carefree, just the vacation we were hoping for. Will definitely stay here again!

relaxing summer vacation
We enjoyed our stay in Rockport. The apartment was just the right size for us and enjoyed all the amenities included. The views were beautiful to look out onto the harbor or to sit and watch the passerbys getting ice cream at the shop next door. We used the beach chairs on one of our day trips to Crane Beach. When the temps were in the 90's the water temperature of 61 felt great! Rockport was a great location for different day trips throughout the week. A train to Boston to enjoy the Freedom Trail , Duck
Boat tour and enjoy the history. Another day to explore Salem and Marblehead. For restaurants we loved the Clam Box in Ipswich or Roy Moore's in Rockport for lobster or Clam Chowder. We have already recommended this place to friends interested in coming out to Boston next year!

Seaside Perfection!
We had the pleasure of being greeted by John on our arrival, Peggy was busy with family so we hope to meet her on perhaps another visit. We were more than impressed by the spectacular views of the bay! We found the kitchen well equipped with more than we could have possibly used on our week stay & the bathroom amenities were lovely products that we didn't need to pack for our trip, absolutely perfect! John & Peggy's apartment was such a blessing and very well cared for. Although they were available if there was anything that we may have needed, we didn't, there is all sorts of brochures and maps as well... If the weather were warmer we would have taken the kayaks out! We did however see a few seals on the beach in front of the apt on the beach resting, very cute. Market Basket has wonderful prices for groceries, live lobster and wine/beer. Roy Moores was a few doors down and don't forget to buy some coffee downstairs for the coffee press or coffee maker! Or just have The Bean & Leaf make your coffee & pastries, yum! The gas fireplace was warm and inviting in the evenings at sunset. The bed was very comfortable & there is plenty of storage for all your personal belongings. We must say we were truly blessed with our stay and will choose this gem again!

Totally Relaxed
We just returned from a wonderful Labor Day weekend in this lovely apartment. After having read the previous reviews, there is little more for me to add. The other reviews quite eloquently describe our stay, as well. It was great being right in the middle of all that's happening in Rockport. The harbor views and cool breezes made for a tranquil, almost mesmerizing, setting in the living room. As for parking, John and Peggy suggested we park a short walk away on Atlantic Avenue, which we did, and we left our car there the entire weekend free of charge. We had such a pleasant stay that we would definitely return. Thanks Peggy and John!!

a lovely visit
This apartment has the most perfect location in Rockport - perfect if you want to be right on the water, steps away from shops, above great coffee, next door to fabulous ice cream, up the street from fantastic lobster... Comfortable, with a great washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, all kitchen equipment you could want and a bright and airy feel. Even the shower does not disappoint - great water pressure! The only challenge is parking. On street parking is sometimes available but not always at the height of the season. We rented a parking place at the Peg Leg Inn and that solved that problem. We had a wonderful stay and would love to return!

Wonderful, relaxing week
My husband and I spent a week in this apartment in July. It was just great. The view from the apartment is even better than the photographs. We took the train from Boston and didn't have a car for the week and managed perfectly. The train to Gloucester only takes 10 minutes and there is a large supermarket just beside the station. If you don't want to wait for the next train back to Rockport there is a taxi rank just by the station and a taxi back to Rockport is inexpensive. Roy Moore's lobster shack cooks lobsters which you can take home and also sells a good variety of fresh fish. We went whale watching from Gloucester which was wonderful, walked to Halibut Point and also walked down to the further away beaches which were lovely and very quiet. The apartment itself has everything you might need, including beach towels and chairs and a very well equipped kitchen. It is an ideal place to sit and watch the world go by, read, listen to music, relax, do nothing.............We felt very chilled after our week here! Rockport is a delightful place to spend a holiday - and the apartment was an ideal place to stay - top marks from us!

Couple's delight
My husband and I stayed at Rockport for 1 week at the end of June. We were looking for a place very close to the water where we could relax and not have "an agenda" of things to do. The apartment is above a coffee shop right in the port, so there is a lot of activity, but yet it is quiet, entertaining, and the view is superb. The apartment comes with everything you will need to be comfortable and it is decorated very nicely with great details. We never watched TV, but listen to classical music CDs (provided) and read while watching the boats and the tides come and go. We did rent a car and stopped at Trader Joe's on the way in from Logan airport (in Peabody) since there is really not a market in Rockport. There are markets in Gloucester a short drive away. The breezes from the ocean keep the apartment cool most of the time, but there is no a/c. We love watching the squalls come and weather developing around us. We did go to Gloucester and ate in a couple of restaurants recommended by the owners. Restaurants close early in Rockport so this is a place perfect for mature couples wanting to get away, no bar scenes or clubs in town. Many local merchants live and stay even as winter arrives. Parking is away from the property, about 10 minutes walk in a nearby street and we never, even on the weekend, had trouble finding a place to park in the streets the owners recommended for parking. No problem unloading your luggage and groceries by the house and then parking. We love Halibut Point for a day's outing and walking to Granite Point daily exploring the town and the shops. We had a great time it was just what we were looking for.

Oasis on Bearskin Neck
I stayed here for a week this past spring, and am happy to report that my incredibly high standards for lodging were met -- and then some. Not only is the place gorgeous, but it's thoughtfully tended and perfectly outfitted. There is a full kitchen, a full bath, washer & dryer (which, when you're staying in what used to be known as Sandy Bay is worth its weight in gold), lovely bedroom, and a sitting room of unparalleled beauty -- a wall of windows facing the gorgeous sea. Peggy and John are warm and welcoming, but the furthest thing from obtrusive. This property is right above the best ice cream store in Rockport, too, and the Bean & Leaf cafe downstairs carries delectable pastries, great coffee, and lovely salads. There is a small amount of noise coming into the property from the cafe when it opens in the morning -- mostly just light music, which is actually a lovely way to wake up -- but light sleepers might be awoken. I found it extraordinary, though, that for a property that is literally on Bearskin neck, that this was the only noise to reach my little hideaway.
At the end of the week, I was sorry to leave. This place earns my highest recommendation. If I can get a reservation slot, I will be back ASAP!

Ocean Breeze
We have been vacationing in Rockport for 24 years. This year, Sept.2011, we decided to extend our vacation for 2 weeks.
We stayed in this lovely apartment and we loved the place the moment we walked in. All the comforts are here for us; the kitchen has everything you will need to prepare a meal ; the great restaurants; shopping; the beaches; the Galleries and most of all the friendly and warm reception of the shopowners .
We relaxed, walked everywhere, enjoyed the company of great friends and celebrated my husbands birthday- everyday!!
We laughed, sang, had great conversations and watched the sunset by the "Headlands".
Yes, we will be back in the future. My husband and I live in the beautiful Catskill mountains of "The Schoharie Valley" upstate New York . But this place is our second " Home" by the ocean!! We recommend this beautiful apartment, the photos accurately represent the rental's appearance! Enjoy!
