cockroaches and no running water - do NOT recommend

the location is good... but so is the location of tens of other hostels / accommodation along the beach

Maybe one of the worst hostel experiences I've ever had. Giant cockroaches in the bathroom, no running water or electricity, paper thin walls with music blasting until 2am, people throwing up outside and literally not a single member of staff around. Oh, and drinkable water from the dispenser is paid for at a crazy rate. Do NOT stay here...

I do recommend going to their restaurant as they also have a library upstairs and the sunset view is amazing from the re

I like that this is a beachfront property but the accommodations were at the back end. Only the restaurant and bar is on the beachfront. And they have a library in their restaurant where you can read and chill. The beachfront is well maintained.

There’s no aircon, the staffs are rude especially the old lady cleaning the toilets and in charge of extra pillows. She was cursing in front of us for bringing the slippers in the bathroom. How could we not, the bathroom floors are dirty, there’s no sign provided, and no slippers available in the bathroom. More often you cannot take a shower or go to the toilet because there’s no water available.

La proximité avec la plage, front de mer, la situation géographique. La chambre est spacieuse et typique.

Les sanitaires et salles de bains, manquent d’hygiène et d’entretien. Pas d’endroit où entreposer ses effets personnels. Peu de gestion de la clientèle.

The beach front was inviting and comfy with hammocks , tables and chairs and bar. Staff cleans actually clean the beach (only from friday) for their Friday Night party

Staying there on a Friday night is not adviseable as you cannot get away from it all. We had people urinating and vommitting behind our room. The shared bathroom allocated was also being used by the paying public. For the rest of the week it was very quiet although the staff (family of caretakers) were arguing loudly most nights during our 4-night stay. they mustve forgotten about their guests or just did not care at all - it was very awkward. The fan in the room was very slow on high. We felt like an inconvenience or a hindrance during our stay. We were assumed to check-out the day before booked check-out date.

Hot, sandy, but fun!

Stunning place right on the beach and hosts great parties on Friday and Sunday. Staff were helpful in sorting us out with a scooter and the room was nice

No AC and super hot and sandy in our room. Also, being in the middle of the party is fun, but also means you can’t escape it so be ready for the music to go on til 3am on Fri and sun!

The place to be in Siquijor

John the owner is such a great guy with a lot of stories to tell about his old job. He has a beautiful place right at the beach. Nice barsetting and go there in the weekends. They know how to do a party. If your looking for a nice cheap place, stay here.

Nice beachfront resort

Whole resort is very nice and in front of a beach. Our house was very spacious, the beds were comfortable. There is no AC, but a fan that is enough. Friendly dog.

The food is good and is quit cheap which is nice when you are staying there. Beautiful view with gorgeous sunsets! They had a big party on the Sunday we where here where a lot of locals came and some other backpackers from other hostels

We have stayed at JJ’s backpacker hostel for 3 days and we were not completely satisfied with our stay here. The maneger is very unfriendly, not helpful at all and talke to you as you don’t understand anything which is very uncomfortable when you are new in the country. The toilet facilities is not good. There is almost always missing toilet paper and you don’t feel like taking a shower there. The name is a bit misguided in the way that it has the word ‘backer packer’ in it (which I personally think is more younger people who’s backpacking) but it’s almost only retired people or older couples from Europe.

Staff were always very smiley and sweet ! Beautiful location with private beach feel. Had a great time here would recommend. Food was good but some things a little overpriced. Great bar and drinks !

Open bathroom where i presume outside guests could use was a little smelly. Would be nice if they provided some hand soap in the dorms bathroom.

The staff is so nice, all of them. I love the fact that they organize parties at the hostel (on the beach). They are motivated and nice people. The location is THE BEST. Front beach that feels like a private one. Also very practical to have a restaurant and bar there. The veggie curry is the best one I had in one month in the Philippines ! The private room is so good and so cheap. Felt really good to have a bit of my own space after weeks in dorms.

The only place in the Philippines where I had to pay 5 pesos to get half a liter. Always free in the other places (accommodations + restaurants). Pretty often the toilet paper was missing.

Basic accommodation at a fair price.

Nice beach, friendly staff, yummy reasonably priced food and drink.

Uncomfortable bed, no AC, cold showers. Toilets + showers were not always clean and you have to walk across a sandy court yard to get to them, so lots of sand ends up in your bedroom, no matter how hard you try to avoid it! Would be nice if the broken toilet paper holders were replaced so you don't have to hunt for toilet paper every time!

Wonderfull "camping" experience ;)

The location was amazing. Nice parties with live music at the hostel on friday and sunday. The rooms were spacious and fan worked well.

The sanitary. Only one shower/toilet for too many cottages. Only cold water and no place to hang your shower stuff. Also in the room were not many options to hang your stuff
