About this house rental
Situated in Sanibel Island, this attractive house for $1,242 per night is a great option for your next break. Rooms are large and bright, and some enjoy lovely views of the bay or the Gulf of Mexico. The home has a heated pool with a waterfall from the in-ground spa tub – all surrounded by a lovely sunny patio and made private with dense tropical landscaping. The kitchen is “to die for,” as you might expect at “Almost Heaven.” It has just been further upgraded to sweet perfection, with additional lighting, a premium built-in microwave oven, new cabinet fronts, a slide-out trash receptacle, and more. The kitchen windows look down on the pool patio below, as seen in the photos. Almost Heaven is unusual for its extensive and smart deployment of state-of-the-art technology. Of course, the house has an unlimited telephone (USA) and wireless internet connectivity throughout the house. But the fun really begins with the entertainment systems. But it gets even better with multimedia! An X-box gaming system is installed with a large HDTV in the great room. Bring your favorite games and your own controllers. Movies, HD sports, big high-def TVs, and Blu-Ray. Even the bunk room has an enormous HDTV. The primary suite at Almost Heaven is its own grand oasis of luxury. Slumber in spacious comfort in the premium king-size bed, or read-in bed propped against the bolster and throw pillows to the light of large lamps and recessed ceiling fixtures. A large, private balcony faces west (sunny in the afternoon) and looks down the short driveway to the Gulf of Mexico beach. The primary bath includes an ample jet tub under the bright window (facing a tall privacy hedge of palms and other tropical landscaping). An oversized walk-in shower features a unique center-pivoting glass door and offers two spray systems (including a handheld massage wand). Plenty of storage is provided in the extended vanity (with two sink bowls), and there is a separate, well-lit make-up area with cushioned seating. Four other bedrooms provide spacious sleeping quarters for guests at Almost Heaven. In the southeast corner is the king suite on the main level. The king has a private en-suite bathroom. In the northeast corner of the upper level is the queen bedroom. The queen bedroom shares a large Jack-and-Jill bathroom with another bedroom with a new king bed on the upper level. Also in the northeast corner is the bunk room on the main level. This cute room sleeps six with enough room for play, and it has a very large HDTV. It has an entrance into the main-level guest bathroom, which can also be accessed from the hallway. All of the Almost Heaven bedrooms are spacious and airy, with high ceilings and deluxe furnishings, large closets, chests of drawers, and all kinds of quality lighting. All reservations/cancellations are subject to the terms and conditions (policies) of the American Realty Rental Agreement once the reservation is booked through third-party platforms. Policies include but are not limited to credit card/debit card convenience fees and cancellation fees.

The home was located in a great spot, near The Green Flash. Access to the beach was very good; we walked down the long driveway, crossed Captiva Dr (which did not have heavy traffic), and we were on the beach! The home was very nice and met our needs for space. We enjoyed the ping pong table in the garage. There was plenty equipment for the beach -- 8 or 10 beach chairs in very good condition, 2 beach wagons, lots of beach towels, and a cooler. As we were packing up to leave, we found a Pack-N-Play. It would have been nice to know that it was there. The kitchen had adequate supplies, as did bathrooms. Want to note that Albert was very helpful when we called him with questions.

This was a family vacation that included 5 adults, two teenagers, three children ages 3-7 and an infant. The house accommodations were exactly what we needed. Plenty of space to gather as well as be able to have some alone time. It was very nice having two separate, but nearby, dining tables. The large kitchen area had two coffee pots and all the utensils, plates, and appliances we needed. For the beach, there was 10 chairs, 2 beach carts, plenty of towels and 1 umbrella; the other umbrella was broken. The house had board games, puzzles, and a ping pong table. It’s a great location, with close access to a beach area that is sparsely populated. Unfortunately, there remains the after effects of the hurricane; only a few stores were open and only to 6 pm. Overall, still a very relaxing and enjoyable location to vacation.

My family has stayed at this house 5 times for the simple reason that it has beautiful views of the ocean and easy access. The house is comfortable and has wonderful amenities as far as a beach house goes. Every time we’re there it’s relaxing and easy to enjoy. Plenty of room for my family and would recommend to anyone looking to see the island for the first time. Property management is on point with any issues and takes care of guests if there’s any issues. Couldn’t be happier with my stay each time I’ve been there. We love Almost Heaven.

Our family, age 9 months - 84 years had a fabulous time at Almost Heaven. The GM from American Realty group of Captiva did a phenomenal job getting everything ready for us. We've been to the island annually for 30 years and yes.. this year is devastating due to the hurricane damage. We still enjoyed it & will be back next year!

We can recommend Almost Heaven in every way. The house is beautifully located, was totally clean and also the service worked out well. There was always someone available. We were there just before the hurricane Ian and we felt very well taken care of. Unfortunately, we had to leave the island early because of the hurricane. Captiva Island is a Paradise and Almost Heaven was a perfect vacation spot on the island. The house was stocked with all amenities including a sharp knife (this is important when cooking), ample pots and pans and cooking utensils, two coffee makes including a k-cup and a 12 cup pot, clean beach towels, beach chairs, a beach cart, even jewelry trays by the bedside. The house is decorated nicely and was clean. It’s important to know you have to cross a two lane road to get to the beach—it’s the only road on the island and not a lot of traffic so an easy cross but important for family with little children. The beach in front of the house is spectacular and almost private because there are only a few houses and no condos —we experienced manatees swimming close enough we could reach out and touch them (they won’t hurt you but don’t touch them). We stayed in July and the back yard was overrun with misquotes and no-see-ums so we did not get to use the backyard oasis. I would have loved to as there was a grill, large table, clean pool and beautiful landscape. We did experience a plumbing back up during our stay which also prevented us from using the outdoor shower, however, management responded promptly and resolved the issue with professionalism — it was the 4th of July weekend and they made the repair happen despite the holiday! I would 100% recommend the property but I wouldn’t go in July—it was too buggy to enjoy the night.

It was a really enjoyable experience. Only issues with the property was the beds where all extremely hard. One even had a plastic wrap around it which made it sleep hot. The house stereo system should be explained as to how to us it. Out side of that it is in great location and very nice. Will be staying there again next year.

Great location and very roomy for our party of 11. Kids enjoyed the beach and the pool. Only a half mile walk from restaurants and shops on Captiva. It takes about 30 minutes to get back to the mainland in case you plan to drive anywhere else in Florida. Beds were comfortable and there was a ping pong table. Negatives-Property was hard to find because it is nestled back off the road a little and google maps takes you behind the property, not to the driveway. There were a few minor problems like sinks not draining properly, dryer took forever to dry things, vanity outlets not working, and door handles not secure. I wish there was a little more beach items to take with us. We had 6 adults and there was only one beach chair. We had 5 kids and only 3 shovels and no buckets and 3 body boards one of which was broken. When making our reservations, we had a choice to spend a little more money for a fully renovated house a little farther from the beach...in the end we think we made the right choice being closer to the beach with a few minor inconveniences.

Our three-generation family stayed at Almost Heaven during President's Week 2020. The kids were ages 3-8 and had a great time at the beautiful pool and the beach across the street. Lots of shells to bring home.
The layout of the house offered lots of room and privacy. We called management to fix the pool lights and the house music system. The response was quick and we enjoyed the improvements.

I do have some constructive comments that should easily be rectified with a little attention. The unit needs a new dishwasher. The current one has several broken glass and dish holders. The home iPad that controls the sound system is not on the current version iOS version.That prevented usage of the system, other than for the pool area, somehow. Both of the speakers by the pool need to be replaced. We had an audio/video expert with us and he tried to get it to function and it did not work properly. The maintenance person also tried to no avail.
