About this house rental

Myrtlemae Farm is a 24-acre property hidden away behind state forest one kilometre from the town centre of Balingup. It features meandering gardens and stunning views over-looking the Blackwood River Valley.
‘Rustic’ is certainly a word you could use to describe Myrtlemae Cottage. It is also ‘cosy’, ‘charming’ and ‘comfy’.
We think the cottage started life as a stables come work shed. Since then it has been through a few changes including the addition of flagstone floors using bricks rescued from the old Balingup Hotel.
The cottage has been meticulously re-purposed. The interior living space is essentially one large room split over two levels. The upper level features a queen and two king single beds. On the lower level is the living area with lounge (which folds out to a double bed) and wood fire, dining area and kitchen. The kitchen has a stainless-steel oven, gas cooktop and fridge along with a toaster. kettle, and Nespresso including tea and complimentary coffee pods.
Off the main space modern bathroom that also has a washer/dryer combo. There is also access to south facing deck (perfect for sunsets).
There’s no TV, but you can stare out the widescreen window and take in the nature channel all day and there is a host of books, games and puzzles to entertain.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The views and surrounding scenery were absolutely stunning, perfect for anyone wanting to truly disconnect and be immersed in nature. The location strikes a great balance of feeling secluded while still being accessible. It was also fantastic that the property is pet-friendly. Our dogs loved it just as much as we did, with great walking spots so close by. It made the whole experience even more enjoyable being able to bring them along and explore the area together. One of our favourite parts was sitting out on the veranda, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere, it was incredibly relaxing. In the evenings, the cosy fireplace made the space feel even more inviting and comfortable.Overall, it’s an ideal getaway if you’re looking for tranquillity, beautiful surroundings, and a place to unwind (with your pets too). We would definitely stay again

Delightful cottage nestled in quiet bush. Peaceful, private - lovely appointed cottage. We’ll be back!

Although the place was rustic we felt that some essentials could have been provided or at least informed they were not included - no microwave - no hanging for clothes as there was no where to unpack, no complimentary shampoo/conditioner in the bathroom - no hairdryer, only seating outside for 2 and the chairs have seen better days, the tea coffe and sugar were passed their sell by date too - communication was absolutely excellent but we felt it a bit on the expensive side for what was provided
