Location was 5 minutes from town. The buildings are old, but they are good value for the location and the cost. The owner is an elderly man who couldn't do enough to have us comfortable. We had a few things go wrong, as you do with old accommodation, but the owner was straight onto it. It was what we were after at the time. Bush, quiet, old, fireplace, bush walks and close to town.

You can't really complain when things are old, and on the lower scale of price. You get what you paid for and we were happy. This placed ticked all our boxes at the time. Nice winter stay with fireplace not far from town.

Ron our host made us feel very welcome with a lovely bowl of fruit in the kitchen and vase of boronia and daffodils in the bathroom.As the location was only a few kms out of Balingup it was easy to go in and out of the town. We booked for 4 nights and as we enjoyed the the quiet of the bush we were able to extend another night. Our wood supply was refilled daily for the great slow combustion fire.

The weather was very cold but it was the middle of winter after all !

The Cottage was spacious and fully equipped. The Host was very welcoming. We enjoyed walking around the property and admiring the flora and fauna. We liked the wood fire.

We would have liked the use of option of the reverse cycle heater - as one of the small heaters had a broken wheel.

The door was already open with a note on the front door when we arrived, and the key was on the table inside. :) The surrounding area was beautiful, the bedding was comfortable, and the cottage size was good and comfortable too. It had everything we needed. There were various fruits from the farm placed in the kitchen for us, along with real flowers in the bathroom, which was a lovely touch. I especially loved the fireplace which worked really well. :) The owner came to welcome us soon after we arrived. He was kind and gave some information about birds and trees. How lovely!! Most of all, the price was very reasonable!

We didn’t like the water quality (though we totally understood how the water system works, so we didn’t mind it too much), and only one out of the four stove burners worked but it was alright since we hardly cooked.
