We had a great stay at Charlie’s house. We were a group of several families staying during a school break with children under 10.
Check-in was easy as Charlie thoughtfully provides a door code well ahead of time and we were able to easily get into the garage and front door.
Parking was also easy as they are two spots indoors and plenty of parking outside.
We loved the location of the house. It was less than 5 minutes to Palisades for the kids’ ski lessons. The Mountaineer shuttle is also super easy to book for door to door pick up / drop off especially if it is snowing!
The view from the living room and dining room was spectacular. We all enjoyed looking at the peaceful surroundings, hills and trees.
We had a big group and the house is very spacious. We never felt on top of each other as there are multiple living room and seating areas. The house is bigger than it looks in the photos. The bunk room was fun for the kids.
We enjoyed using the hot tub and the sauna was also a nice treat. The grill also made it easier to make dinner. We used the kitchen every day to prepare meals and the k-cup coffee machine was key in the morning.
A few of us had to do work and the office area with seating for a couple of workstations was really nice. The internet was fast throughout the house and we had no issues doing Zoom calls or connecting.
Charlie and his property manager were very responsive. We’re grateful for a fab week!

Excellent ski location. 1 min drive to the base of Palisades. The house/hot tub have a great view across the valley. Clean and well stocked. Would recommend for anyone looking for a ski weekend. The Village is close enough to walk for dinner. (About 20 mins walk) We did this and found it quite nice.

We loved our stay! The manager was very responsive and helpful when we asked about additional towels. The house was perfect for multiple families - we could spread out, cook meals, enjoy apres ski in the hot tub and sauna or by the fire! The kids also loved the foosball table.

The house is beautiful and very well located, easy to reach and yet quiet. Access to the palisades ski resort base was easy either by foot or by the free mountaineer shuttle.
Charles the owner was very responsive, very quick to communicate and to ensure our stay was the most comfortable possible. He answered any questions we had very quickly. Sauna, jacuzzi and wifi were all functional. The kitchen was well equipped.
Firewood had been stored for the entire stay.

Wonderful vacation home
Lovely spacious well-equipped home with beautiful views. We had three generations gathered for a family reunion. Plenty of room to gather, or to find your own corner to read a book. Great location with easy access to groceries, ice cream, and restaurants. We did a lot of hiking and found the house to be perfectly situated. Charles is a kind and gracious host who strives to provide the perfect experience.

Ski week with family and friends
The main reception room is a big sunny room with fabulous views and a great wood burning fire, for which there was plenty of wood provided. A great place to gather. The study was very useful for those in our group who had to do some remote work. The Wi-Fi was good which was also important. The house is located on a quiet street but only minutes to the slope. The mountaineer car service was excellent. The bathrooms are a bit dated and table settings and a few more glasses would have been nice. The owner was quick to respond and check in and check out was easy. Overall a good stay.

The hot tub and sauna worked well and there was no better place for our family to have been stranded and snowed in during the “storm of the century.” The property owner was incredibly accommodating and allowed us to put up our own Christmas tree and was super helpful when both the power went out and when the snow reached a height of about 6 feet in front of the house. Would love to stay here again with our family.

I was lucky to rent this home for an entire month with my extended family. We had 4 children (including 2 babies) and 10 adults. The proximity to Squaw made it easy to do drop-offs or even walk (on a path with a stroller) if the weather was nice. The layout was great to accommodate everyone’s needs, and there were plenty of comfortable places to work, eat, and hang out. There was no problem seating everyone in the living rooms and dining room. The bedrooms were all quiet, perfect for naps and different sleep schedules - three had beautiful views and balconies. The house was stocked with shampoo and conditioner, paper goods, condiments, and firewood upon arrival. The owner and house manager were responsive and accommodating. We miss the view of the mountains/valley and the hot tub, and I hope to rent the house again next season!

Amazing House and Location for Ideal Family Christmas
We had family traveling back to the Bay Area for Christmas this year and wanted to make it an unforgettable one by spending it in Tahoe. Upon looking through VRBO we found this lovely cabin in Squaw and couldn't be more happy with it! The house was clean the view from the living room was beautiful--especially after it just snowed! The location was perfect, a beautiful scenic walk to Squaw or if you have toddlers, like we had, the Squaw shuttle was extrememly convenient! The shuttle picks you up at your very door step!
Communication with Charles, the owner of the cabin, was really easy and he was super responsive! Thank you again for opening up your home to our faimly during the holidays!

Beautiful and spacious home
Beautiful and spacious home large enough for a big family group. The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked to make home cooked meals. The location was perfect with hiking trails nearby and Squaw village just a very short distance away. We really enjoyed our stay here with our family and friends and the property manager was a pleasure to work with. His immediate response to all my questions made it seamless to checkin. We will certainly be looking to come back again soon!

Amazing location and great house for multiple families
My family and two other families with younger children stayed at the house for a ski weekend and had a great time. The house is huge with plenty of space for kids and adults to spread out. Plus there were toys that kept the kids entertained! The location is fantastic - right off the main road up to Squaw, so going skiing was very easy even on a very crowded weekend at the resort. There are beautiful views of the mountain, too from many of the rooms. Also, the owner was very kind and responsive. We would definitely stay there again!

Beautiful view, big house but not well maintained
The positives are the views are beautiful, especially for those of us who live in the desert. The beds were very comfortable. The positives were outweighed by the negatives.
Here is our list of deficiencies for this house. There were more, but our family didn’t want to take the time or effort to complain further. I think that is wrong. If you don’t know what is wrong, you can’t correct it and yet another family or group will be disappointed in their stay.
1. Sauna didn’t work at all.
2. Jacuzzi didn’t get warm at all (Repair man came the evening before we left)
3. No broom or dustpan (Bev had to bring)
4. House water warm not hot even before anyone started showering.
5. No kitchen storage containers (Tupperware or similar)
6. No beach towels
7. No recycling bags or containers
8. Freezer door handle falling off (Bev had to fix)
9. Kitchen not very clean, pullout kitchen shelves not clean
10. No blender or mixer
11. Trash compactor did not work at all (Bev aware of this)
12. Decks and benches very, very dusty
13. Upstairs plastic bathtub dangerously slippery, no handholds, no slip-free mat.
14. Upstairs bath mats dirty, looks like they were never washed.
PS: I don’t fault Bev at all. She is very responsive and does the best she can with what she has to work with.
Your cleaning crew leaves much to be desired. They do the obvious, but don’t look beyond their noses in the drawers or cabinets to wipe them down. The kitchen was very far from clean.
