Beautiful building, very friendly and welcoming staff, lovely room - large, clean and comfortable. We had a super dinner in the restaurant and breakfast the next morning was delicious. Would definitely stay again.
The only thing I would recommend is maybe some music in the dining room. It was very quiet when we first sat, as there were only a couple of occupied tables and it was generally quite subdued. It got better when a larger table arrived. But I think the atmosphere would be helped with some low-volume music.

We were attending a friends celebration, so had a set menu. The food and the service was excellent. In the evening, we had a tapas style snack in the bar, again could not fault food or service. The staff are a real credit to the hotel.
The kindest way to explain is that the hotel is 'tired'. The decor is dated and clearly needs a refresh. The room was lovely, and the furniture excellent quality, but it just looked a very outdated.
The drinks are very expensive, I had two glasses of wine, they were £14.40 each.....
