The Jardim de Mar is beautiful place, you have to visit in Madeira. The Tarmar place is very good to stay. Staff was very nice, room clean and comfy, and breakfast was delicious.

Spacious suite (room 34) with wonderful sea and mountain views; friendly and family-run. Eggs from their chickens; potatoes and veg from their soil. Good value. Restaurant and cafe popular with the locals - always a good sign! Dinner on our private terrace was a treat.

Not a criticism... but Jardim do Mar is very quiet, and no real swimming opportunities. Pop over to the next village, Paul do Mar, for cafes and a swim.

A very spacious room with a big balcony with an ocean view was a great experience. There is a huge TV in the room. Located in a very quiet place but there is a bit of construction nearby which can be heard. Tasty food in the restaurant with good portions, especially fish soup. Kind and friendly personnel.

A bit poor breakfast selection. But gluten-free toasts were presented, so it's a good point.

We had room 34 it was perfect. The staff was super nice and gave great advice about driving and hikes. We had dinner in the restaurant which is simple but very tasty. Also, it was easy to find and park and in the village.

First impression - it was very clean. It is also in an idyllic location for a stoll by the sea, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was excellent. it was also very affordable, and certainly the best option for those who are passing through the region and just looking for a place to stay. Highly recommendable.

Not a negative, just an observation - this is a great place for those who want a good breakfast, a sceinic view, a nice walk and a peaceful place to sleep, but if you are looking for more than that - well, next stop please...

Well run hotel. Big rooms with balcony and seaview. Good location, near the town center and seashore. Very nice narrow streets, which you can reach any place.

getting there. one of the tunnels is closed for repair and this made the journey there longer and more precarious. the road was very windy and steep, a little tense on the wrong side of the road and the wrong side of the car. be prepared though, there is not much to do here after the sun goes down and that road is not something to do in the dark!

You can park a car next to the hotel. Nice village with a good pub - Joe’s Bar.

“Mountain view” = view to the road in the hotel ground floor. Anybody could come to your room through the window. Small room without wardrobe. Poor breakfast.
