Great hotel! Super cool for our large group to have so much space in our rooms. And interesting to sleep in actual dorm rooms. We loved it!
The bathrooms were very small there was an odour.

This is a converted boarding school that is used for tourists and guest lodging in the summer. The breakfast was amazing, the coffee was fantastic, the room and bathroom were big enough for our needs, and we needed a place to stay in the remote little town of Egilsstadir. There's not a lot to choose from, and they have Hotel Edda locations all around the island even though this is the only one we stayed in. It was sufficient, not opulent, and we slept very well!
It's a tiny little dorm room with a very tiny bathroom. The kids complained and then realized it was ample for our needs. The hallways are dark until you walk down them, and then the lights turn on as you go. The circular staircase to get to the upper bedroom is tight, so be careful if you are carrying luggage or aren't sure-footed. But we were, and it was an adventure that we smile about now!

It was clean and neat. The rooms good size, the linen was clean and felt nice.
It’s a students acco converted into hotel during summer. Which means it screams of a dorm. It’s well managed, but expected things that you expect from a hotel. Also, it didn’t serve dinner as it doesn’t have a full functional restaurant. We didn’t have breakfast as it was extra. There was no TV in the room and the room looked very dated. Given that we were charged almost 290 euros per room per night, I didn’t look worth the money we payed and we were a bit disappointed. By the way, we read about it before booking and saw some unfavourable reviews, but anyway booked as we didn’t find any other option.
