Large room

The room and the bathroom are extra-large and modern. It is located next to the main shopping streets of Nozawa Onsen.

My room was in the anex so you need to exit to the street to get to the main building were breakfast is served.

The staff were so helpful, it was immaculately clean and the Japanese style breakfasts were absolutely delicious.

Superb

Very nice hospitality. We arrived early, let's say that it's before noon, and they let us check in. Room was comfortable and the bathroom was pretty clean and good.

The hot tub in the public bath is too hot at the time I used.

Pleasant weekend break in the mountains

Great location and atmosphere. Excellent breakfast and accomodating of vegetarians.

Feels a little run-down, especially the onsen. Room was a little small.

Location is fine but check-in was slow and chaotic, room was generic, onsen was small and uninspiring and breakfast was below average. Felt like a business hotel, really low value for the price.

Good value near central Nozawa Onsen

- Friendly and accommodating staff who spoke English - Near several onsen and restaurants - Tasty traditional Japanese breakfast

We stayed in the building separate from the main reception and dining area so having to cross the courtyard in winter for breakfast was a minor inconvenience.

Nozawa Onsen is the best ski resort in Japan! Stay at Shirakaba for an awesome experience.

Such a wonderful family-owned business, great breakfast, perfect location, and just an amazing, authentic property! really recommend.

Very comfortable & modern ryokan with traditional elements like breakfast and yukata.

The breakfast was delicious. The on-site restaurant for dinner was our best meal during our trip. The hosts were also helpful to us making reservations at other local restaurants. The room was so comfortable and spacious - this ryokan has a nice blend between traditional and modern. We had a lovely stay.

Better quality pillows and comforters (not the synthetic type) would have made sleeping better.

The renovations have made this a modern, comfortable venue for your stay. A hearty Japanese breakfast will send you on your day with a spring in your step!

Very good

Room was clean n comfortable. Bathroom attached was great as it was cold outside. Near bus station, so easy to find.

They having some renovations at main building, so the baths not available. Snow late this year, missed :(
