We received a friendly welcome from the staff who were then very good throughout our stay. Both the evening meal and breakfast were super. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.
The bar / restaurant area lacked some comfortable seating where our group could retire to after eating.

A nice country pub with friendly staff, a decent menu, and freshly prepared food (for dinner). room and bathroom nicely done, with nice towels and extras like tea and coffee and water, plus a little fridge.
The room was very hot and right in the carpark on the ground floor so didn't feel comfortable with windows open (they were small anyway). Fan provided, but difficult to get the room cool enough to sleep comfortably.
We ran into a problem as we needed to leave early and breakfast didn't start until 8. It was made clear that no flexibility on times, but a takeaway breakfast was available, which we thought was a good idea. We were asked to order from the list of quite basic breakfast items in bread, plus options of flavoured yoghurt, juice, cheese, I think. We were very surprised when bags were presented to us after dinner for the next day. Really wasn't expecting to have a 12-hour old fried egg sandwich for my breakfast!
