Exceptional. Beautiful hostel. We left something precious and the staff even couriered it to us!

The hostel was exceptional. Excellent staff. The room was beautiful. Lovely shared facilities. Would work well for families/couples/friends. Really kind staff who went above and beyond for us. We left something precious and the staff helped liaise with where we left it and even helped us afterwards by couriering it to us. So thankful! Thank you very much! Would definitely recommend this hostel. Helpful at arranging tours. Easy location near lots of food areas in Legazpi.

I had the most wonderful and amazing stay at BALAI TINAY.

I did not have breakfast except the morning of checking out. I wanted a nice and easy breakfast, cornflakes cereals with fresh milk , just before I was leaving for my early morning flight. No problem at all , which Gerson happily got the table set for me , very early in the morning , like 4am.. Gerson is the trusted person, of BALAI TINAY. The lady proprietor (Gin) , is very accommodating and nothing is a problem at all. She did everything to make my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as it possibly can. They offer a personal service that you usually can’t find staying in big hotels . The whole of BALAI TINAY is a beautiful and delightful place to stay . You go up to the top floors to have a direct view of the incredible Mt. Mayon , the world’s most perfect cone.

The only thing that’s a minus is the road going to the property. It’s a little narrow that it could be just a little wider.

I've been staying here multiple times and expects the same comfort and serenity of the place.

Very homey feeling. Groceries are just a few minutes away if you wish to buy for cold beer and food. You may also ask a breakfast prepared in advance. Our car is safely park inside the good community. Internet and TV are at your comfort inside your room or even at the common big sala. Coffee and water are available 24/7.

Could not think of what I do not like. But maybe missing the Cooler and their cold beers, anyway we could order outside.

This place is a Hybrid of Simplicity, Technology and Nature.

We like the essence of privacy and a home like atmosphere. The staff are very good as expected, very helpful. TV, Air-conditioning, clean rooms and everything around is well organized. The view of the Mayon Tip is a plus.

They dont offer cold drinks anymore. Not a Big Deal.

Balay Tinay was one of the top reasons why this trip was unforgettable.

A hidden gem of a place. Initially difficult to reach and deceptively plain from outside, but opened up to a truly wonderful place to stay with a memorable view of Mayon. Felt welcomed and at home. We were well taken cared of and provided everything we needed. Staff was excellent. The place is thoughtfully, carefully, and lovingly designed — every utensil, appliance, linen, and piece of furniture is just so lovely. The whole ambiance offers food for the soul.

Winchester Mystery House without the ghosts

a sweet collection of eclectic and randomly put together stuff that evokes the coexistence of chaos and charm, adding character and mystery; kinda like the winchester mystery house in San Jose, CA, but without the ghosts. breakfast was really good and affordable.

this a perfect place to stay with your whole family to just relax after a full day of activities.

the property had the comforts of feeling at home. the staff was very accommodating and the facilities was very clean. there are also lounges available where you can unwind do some work or gather with other guests instead of being locked in your room the whole time.

I wish there more breakfast menu options, it was limited during our stay, but the staff was nice enough to grant some of our cravings...

Great stay

Great stay in Balai Tinay. They helped me with booking of ATV tour to Mayon vulcano. Drinking water and fridge at disposal. Very clean and beautiful terrace for chill with vulcano view. Gerson is really helpful, give some recommendations. City centre 3 minutes walk far away.

Had a really great stay with my family. The place is like a hidden gem because it looks pretty normal on the outside but once you enter the guesthouse, it would definitely exceed your expectations. Loved everything about the place especially the gardens and the room. And the owner was very accommodating too.

Exceptional stay in Legazpi

Very beautiful guesthouse, especially the common rooms. Very big and cozy, many plants. The terrace was also nice and there would normally be a nice view of the volcano which we couldn’t see due to the weather. Personell was very helpful! Organized a grab for us for an early flight and also helped to rent a scooter. Good filipino breakfast also. Perfect stay if you want to have a comfortable environment, yet be close to the locals.

Hit and Miss! Kudos to the staff!

We had the most amazing stay in this place. Homely and so comfortable and so much accessible. The room is clean and amazing there is everything here you need. It’s perfect to stay with your family or solo. We booked for 2 nights and we have balcony but didn’t get a chance to see the majestic Mount Mayon because it’s rainy.

Good for one night

Helpful owner, nice common room. He also arranged a good transport to the airport for us and you can walk to a big supermarket.

The room was on the ground floor and was therefore quite dark and did not smell very good.

Lovely place to stay

2nd time staying here. last time was 7 years ago. The property and staff have retained their homely charm. Comfortable, beautifully clean and a friendly family. My extended family thoroughly enjoyed their stay in the top floor family room. Well done Balai Tinay, see you in a few more years!

Very homey. Fresh air and beautiful plants.

Affordable good breakfast. (tocino and longanisa with rice,egg, veggie and pineapple). Can pre order ahead of time. Feels like home. We had free fried fish as a bonus.. that was nice! 😊 owner and staff very friendly.

Friendly and helpful owner. Shared areas were nice. walking distance to shops and restaurants etc.

Room was damp and needs updating. Had to repair the toilet flush few times.
