Located in Long Beach, this lovely house for $150 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Located on three acres Shell House Estates is a170 year old private property with 500 year old registered live oak trees with a private beach just out your front door. The bungalow has parking under a carport which is just out your French Doors. There is a screen porch out your French Doors with a full outdoor kitchen and fire pit. The Bungalow has a lighted pool and lighted croquet grass court. There is also a Pool House that sleeps 6 see the additional listing for the guesthouse; VRBO# 773631.

Our stay was just lovely. Everything there was just so inviting and comfortable and so close to everything. The owners were very very sweet. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick getaway or a long vacation.

We first chose this property for its proximity to USM (walking distance). We could not have imagined how beautiful and serene it would be “in person”. Both properties are magazine worthy and the host is very kind and professional. This will be our new go-to property as researchers who visit the university often. Shell House is the epitome of southern charm. We began our stay in the bungalow, which was "Southern Living Magazine" adorable. After the first night, our host graciously offered the pool house to us in anticipation of fence construction near the bungalow. The pool house was larger with a full kitchen, lovely decor, and easy access to the pool. The walk down the front drive to the beach is dreamy. We even spotted an eagle! Thank you, Lydia, for sharing your lovely spaces with us.

This was our first VRBO experience, so had no idea what to expect… was a little nervous, BUT, what an enchanting place it was to stay. Large green lawn under old live oaks. Full view of bay from front yard. Complete privacy. Detailed decor throughout. Will definitely go back.

Beautiful property! Right across from the beach. Beach area not crowded AT ALL! Just what we wanted!
Our little bungalow was nice and private.We really loved the covered patio area with the outdoor cook top. We made breakfast out there both mornings we were there.
There was great amenities. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash in the shower. Q-tips. Laundry pods for the washer and dryer. Dishwasher tabs for the dishwasher.
We had our own beach stuff, but there was a ton available for use. Beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, sand toys!
Pool was beautiful and had many chairs to sit at and floaties and toys to use in the pool!
There was extra “fun” stuff that we didn’t get a chance to use, but was available such as a ping pong table, bean bag toss, croquet, boche ball, and more!
Lydia was great at responding to any messages I sent through VRBO. She also came out and introduced herself and said to call her if we needed anything. Other than that meeting, hardly noticed her there so she definitely was not intrusive at all!
Would HIGHLY recommend! It was small and cozy, but PERFECT for 3-4 people and MUCH nicer then staying in a hotel room!!

Great host! Loved the property. The outdoor patio was wonderful and we enjoyed a relaxing evening around the fire pit. The views from the pool were spectacular - Just the perfect southern setting. The location was a plus too!

Our first time to the Gulf coast and we loved it! The bungalow was so charming...everything about it. The surrounding lawns and gardens were so beautiful & picturesque...and the location is perfect. A few steps to the beach and close to shopping & restaurants. We look forward to going back!

We did not stay at this home, I booked this home the first week on Aug 2022 and on Oct 20 the home owner reached out to me and said VBRO over booked and that she needed to go with the first booking and moved me to her daughters house. I reached out to VRBO where I was told no that is not true. The daughters home was cute but not what we paid for. I think this home owner had a chance to rent out her pool house and her cottage to one person so she went with it. We were not compensated for our inconvenience. We were in Mississippi for a event, a birthday celebration and ours friends wedding. Hugh disappointment. This home is listed on VRBO and another site and I believe she did not update either site and this resulted in this issue or something.
The daughters home was beautiful, the daughter was pleasant to deal with. Can not answer anything about the above home. Would not recommend this listing as this situation could happen to you. We were coming from Fort Worth, Tx if I would not had reached out to home owner the morning before leaving about bringing my friends she wouldn’t had know (supposedly the double booking) we would’ve arrived and had no place to stay.

This bungalow is very nice! Close to most of what the MS gulf has to offer. Extremely clean and homie. We only got to stay one of our two planned nights, but I can definitely see staying at this spot again.

Property is absolutely gorgeous, located literally steps away from miles of pristine white sandy beach. I visited from 8/7 - 8/11/2022, the weather was warm and sunny with occasional rain showers. The rain usually cleared quickly. I was able to enjoy daily runs along the boardwalk which lined the beach, right off highway 90. Everything was located minutes away. Entertainment, night life, multiple casinos, fine dining, shopping, beaches, all within a short drive or walk from the property. Check it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

We loved this tucked-away hidden gem. Southern Living styled bungalow was cozy and full of fabulous decor with a great porch and access to the home's pool. We only stayed one night and wished we had stayed longer! It's a great find full of charm.

This was our second time to stay on this beautiful property. We have enjoyed both the bungalow and the pool house. Each rental is absolutely beautiful. A friend and I decided to get together for a girls week together and we are so glad we did. Lydia was super nice the cottage was very clean and the perfect size for us. Loved the outdoor cooking area. There were tons of things to do on the property and the beach was close so we were never bored. Getting to the beach is very walkable and we did walk most of the time but if you tire easily or have a few too many items to carry, like we did our last trip, you can easily load up everything, drive across the street and park right in front of the beach and be there in just a few minutes. Otherwise, the walk doesn't take much longer and is very scenic. Just walk to the front of the house, past the pool, through the beautiful front yard and all of the amazing trees, across the road and that's it, your feet are in the beautiful white sand. Love this place. Amazing! Just amazing!

Beautiful, charming, clean home with tons of character and equally stunning grounds. Lydia, our host, was gracious, kind, responsive, and went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Her attention to detail when designing these spaces is incomparable, and we appreciated how stocked each area was with every amenity you could possibly think of. Property gave a nice private, tucked away feel, but we were pleasantly surprised with how close restaurants and attractions were once we got on the road. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed the pool as well as the white sand beach right across the street. Our only complaint is that we only booked 2 nights. Our family can’t wait to visit this beautiful little retreat again in the near future.

This property was amazing. We stayed at the bungalow. It had everything you could possibly need. The vaulted ceiling makes it seem so roomy. Lydia was so kind and gave us lots of helpful information. She even let us peak inside her other rental the shell house, which is right by the pool. I will definitely rent the shell house our next time. So pretty. There is a Walmart within a few miles to stock up with any needs. The pool and the yard is just beautiful. The outdoor kitchen has everything you could possibly need to cook your own dinner. They also have screened in porches to sit and enjoy the outdoors. We will definitely be coming back. The only recommendation I would make is have the hutch in the bedroom available to have a place to unpack your clothes. Thanks Lydia for a wonderful vacation. Hope to see you again soon!

This property is spectacular! Even though we only stayed for 12 hours, it was exactly the place we needed to recuperate after a long day of driving. Shower was excellent, decor was titillating, and AC worked great! We enjoyed stargazing on the beach and watching the sunrise over the water the next morning due to the house’s closeness to the beach.
