なにもない幸せな島のリトリート宿 THE BONDS Island Stay

Very friendly owners, right on the beach, fantastic home made food. Great Japanese breakfast.

強いていうとオーシャンビューの部屋が二人までしか泊まれないのが残念でした。

Where do I start I am a first time traveler and had my troubles getting around I was on the boat to. Nakajima and was unsure on where to get off my google maps should me I was a long way to where I was going I was nervous and a woman so kindly offered her assistance I notified the Bonds that I would probably be late the woman on the boat helped me out and offered to take me there she called them up also to let them know she was going to drive me as I got in land there was a man waiting to take me there WOW that was a surprise he took my luggage up to the room as I was checking in I was at a table with my name and a glass of fruit juice the woman said what am I having for dinner I stated I was going to get groceries when I got there she told me store was open till 6 she offered to take me since it was almost closing 5:50 pm so she took me and helped me find things then she even carried them for me the staff and owners go out of there way to keep you comfortable and you become sort of like a family you feel welcomed just by the treatment of every one there , the out side had a beautiful walkway breath taking sunsets and that's just the beginning. You can relax be in peace lay back and enjoy ...I wanted to stay a couple more nights but there was no vacancy and I feel they were truly wanting to fit me in they apologized a few times on the day I had to leave they offered me a ride back to the boat. I declined because I wanted to see a bit more. WE HUGGED AND SAID OUR GOOD BYES. I STATED I WILL PASS ON THIS PLACE TO WHO WANTS TO TRAVEL TO. JAPAN AND THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET THEIR KINDNESS WE HUGGED AGAIN IT WAS A TEARFUL GOODBY I STATED THAT AT SOME POINT I WILL RETURN THEY WAVED TO ME TILL I WAS ALMOST OUT OF SIGHT. I MADE SOME FRIEND HERE THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET. THANK YOU TO ALL THE. BONDS FAMILY FOR MAKING MY STAY THE BEST I EVER HAD. PEACE. MAUREEN

Having to leave

Great location, nice common area.

Staff greeted us during rainstorm, offered zero help in finding food or making food for us (we were told that if we wanted dinner, we would have had to "request this two days before"). Understand that the hostel sits at the end of a remote street near a beach with no shops nearby. If we had not brought bikes to get around the island we would have been completely stuck. The staff suggested a nearby restaurant... that was actually closed, and did nothing to help us solve an obvious issue. After biking around we found that all shops and restaurants were closed on the off-season except a local supermarket. All in all, the staff showed very little care for us. The rooms are cramped and very far from bathrooms (bathrooms are on first floor, bedrooms on second floor). Steep, narrow stairs were not easy to navigate. Finally, there was a single (!!) bathing room for ALL GUESTS TO SHARE. This room must be booked via writing your name on a whiteboard! This was laughably unworkable. I am sooooo glad we stayed there on off-season!
